Advice needed choosing between a couple of Mantle cards please.

I have the opportunity to pick up one or the other...

Nicely centered. Total price after the discount: $345

No creases.

Or

Had a chance to buy it raw several months ago, but the owner had it graded.

Says 499, but after the discount and (a little negotiation )

$400

I like both and am torn on which to pick.

Any advise would be awesome coming from the me.bers here.

Thank you!

I would choose the 52 Bowman over the ugly(to me) 57 Topps.

I can live with a crease, just not on the face. I would go with the '57.

57 Hands Down. Much rather have a nice 4 then a creased up 1.

A creased up across the face is not a nice card to own, even if it’s Mickeys 52b... that 57t is solid looking for the grade and one of Mickeys more popular cards due to the 56 stats from his triple crown the year before, (the ghost of Babe Ruth behind him) and one of mickeys first cards with an actual photo being used by Topps and it is a really tough card to find good centering on and that looks pretty good.

Save another couple hundred and you can get a solid PSA 3 52b for about $800-$900...further on down the road...

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

Thank all of you for the responses. I think I have my mind made up now.

I like the 1957 better.

Eye appeal, ease of resale, and triple crown stats on back.

Unless I'm missing something, the 57 Topps looks undergraded. I would pick that one up first.

Mantle

You can take the 52, ill take the 57 :)

57

I would take the 57 all day. The centering alone (which can be tough on the 57s) makes it the better value.

I would agree that there is just too much creasing on the 52, especially across the face.

I'll put it this way: Do you want an older, wrinkly woman or a younger hottie? ;)

I couldn’t have said it better

Kinda went a totally different route with my choice.

Go figure...

Settled for these 2 instead.

Centering is the only issue keeping this from an easy 8.

Yes it's in a BVG holder, but man it's a nice 5 imo. Buy the card not the grade :)

Who'd knew the OP like women w/ hairy armpits :p:p

I'd go for the '52 Bowman, myself, because I love wrinkles - on cards, that is, not so much on human beings, having so many myself. Hey, isn't CBF herself 52 years old?
