How many of you think the Warrior's can surpass the Lakers at 33 in a row?

john

KCRfan1 11-28-2015 11:18 AM

I don't.

familytoad 11-28-2015 11:19 AM

My son is a believer...he made a wager that the Warriors will continue their streak beyond the current winless streak the 76ers have.

I am not much of a hoopster fan, unless it's March Madness NCAA, but I hope Steph's crew goes far into the season without losing:p

rjackson44 11-28-2015 11:27 AM

no but i think the 76ers will go 0-33 oh boy.....

talkinbaseball 11-29-2015 09:26 AM

18-0

Next game Monday Nov. 30 vs. at Utah Jazz.

john

pariah1107 11-29-2015 12:49 PM

I see three potentially difficult hurdles on their way to 33, (1) the current road trip, (2) back-to-backs, and (3) Cleveland. Golden State has started a long road trip with back-to-back games vs. Toronto and Brooklyn (December 5-6). then Boston and Milwaukee (December 11-12), with a game versus the Pacers thrown in between. That's some serious travelling and not with the basketball. Finally, if they survive the road they get the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas at which time the Warriors will be 29-0.

Do I think they can do it? No. However, they will threaten the 72-10 record set by the Jordan led Bulls, the NBA may even change the names of their opponents to the Generals by season's end.

talkinbaseball 12-01-2015 01:36 AM

19-0

Warriors next game at at Charlotte tomorrow, Wednesday Dec. 2nd

John

itjclarke 12-01-2015 03:09 AM

This is unreal. I'm not gonna jinx and say they will do it, but definitely think they can do it. Can you imagine if it really comes down to that Christmas day game vs the Cavs to tie the Lakers' record???

KCRfan1 12-01-2015 05:53 AM

GS got a bit lucky last night when Hood chucked up that 3 at the end of the game. I can't imagine that was the play call when the Jazz needed to work the ball to the paint, and get a better look at the basket and potential foul..

itjclarke 12-01-2015 10:56 PM

The Brooklyn and Clipper games were closer calls than last night, though last night was tight. Close calls and a little luck all seem to be part of long streaks though. Pretty sure Dimaggio only had 1 hit in over half of his 56 games. Lots of close calls there, as there also were when his streak was eventually snuffed out.

talkinbaseball 12-02-2015 11:03 PM

20-0

what is going on here?

Next game Saturday vs. Toronto that will be their 3rd game of the 7 game road trip.

Let's hope Klay's ankle isn't hurt to badly. That said, they won a few without him earlier in the year, and are winning without Barnes now.

CMIZ5290 12-10-2015 06:39 PM

In my opinion, this team will win 70 or more games. Anyone that disagrees, I'll take the action....

talkinbaseball 12-11-2015 05:02 PM

getting close

7:30 pm starting time EST vs. the Celtics. Is this the night the streak ends?

John

talkinbaseball 12-11-2015 08:42 PM

wow

Double overtime, but the Celtics came up just short.

john

itjclarke 12-11-2015 09:54 PM

Wow that one was a scare, especially without Klay. Celts gave them a good run, and had the ball with opportunity to win at end of regulation and first OT, but couldn't get it done.

Steph is clearly the guy, but Draymond is a freaking stud.

talkinbaseball 12-12-2015 06:01 AM

tonight

The Warriors are at the Milwaukee Bucks tonight.

John

itjclarke 12-12-2015 08:53 PM

Looks like tired legs following double OT and a back to back at the end of a long trip caught up with them. Great streak Dubs, had to lose sometime.

talkinbaseball 12-13-2015 01:50 AM

the streak is over.

last game of the road trip was just to much to overcome, it was one heck of a winning streak.

I still don't think they win 70 games...makes that bulls record really amazing back in the day..

I don't either. Too many things can happen.

1 win and 29 losses for the Sixers. This is the greatest tank in NBA history. They are almost flawless, but for that one blemish over the Lakers. How does anyone keep their job? I'd seriously consider relegation to a D-league. It's an embarrassment to the sport.

Even if they get the number one draft pick; how is Ben Simmons, another 6'10" big man, going to help? They already have Joel Embiid, Nerlens Noel, and Jahlil Okafor, that's a pretty crowded frontcourt. Simmons, who can handle the ball decently in college, has no jumper, and can't play the 2 or 3 in the pros.

chaddurbin 12-23-2015 10:30 AM

colangelo is in for philly, THE PROCESS is getting an adjustment. all that tanking and all you have is a tmz night club fight video to show for it. you talk about your analytics and your sloan conferences but this ain't baseball where it's an individual endeavor wrapped in a team concept. it doesn't work like that in basketball where players are more reliant on their teammates and cliches like chemistry and personalities can't be discounted from the be-all per or war, speaking of which...

golden state started off strong, but san antonio is also right there flying low and clobbering the league with the same point differential as g-dub. a bad week by gs and things could be reversed.

pariah1107 12-23-2015 02:14 PM

Since Colangelo was hired on December 7, they have gone 0-9. Over those games they have lost by 51, 22, 21, 20, 19, 14, 12, 10, and one "tight" contest by 9. How is this an improvement, or even adjustment in the "PROCESS"?

jasonc 12-24-2015 02:51 AM

The 76ers fall to 1-30. It is really looking like the 2015-16 season could have the best single season winning percentage and the worst single season winning percentage in the SAME year. I had my doubts earlier when the season was young, but man it's really looking like it now!

talkinbaseball 12-24-2015 04:20 AM

On to Christmas day

Warriors beat the Utah Jazz, the Cavs are coming in on Christmas Day.

enjoy the holidays.

John

talkinbaseball 12-28-2015 07:25 AM

tonight

Golden State at home vs. the Sacramento Kings.

How good is this team?

1/3 of the season over.

john

clydepepper 12-28-2015 12:53 PM

I'm betting the Warriors will have at least one more 20+ game winning streak this year...'Hear me now and believe me later'
.
.

talkinbaseball 12-29-2015 05:04 AM

The Warriors end 2015 with a home record of 42-1.

they’ll finish out 2015 on the road with a two-game Texas road trip that tips off on Wednesday in Dallas.

John

frankbmd 12-29-2015 08:17 AM

What would be the odds of the Warriors losing to the Sixers in a single game?

Or in a seven game series?:eek::eek:

The corollary question would be:

Would you bet $100 on the Warriors to win a dime?

talkinbaseball 12-29-2015 04:44 PM

With everyone paying attention to Golden State, has anyone noticed that San Antonio is 18-0 at home.

golden state getting the a### handed to them in dallas...down 25 right now in 4th quarter... and spurs winning by 20+ at home..

no excuse to lose by 25 curry or no curry....

No excuse? seriously? The defending champ, who've won 29 of 30 to start season, lose the MVP, and been short another starter all year... and tonight were also without Ezili and Barbosa, and were playing a very solid Dallas team on the road. I think they're allowed a bad night, especially on the road, and especially when every team they play this year is totally amped to play them. 29-2 is still 29-2.

It's probably a blessing if they lose a few, as they then may be less reluctant to rest guys who need it.

talkinbaseball 12-31-2015 05:28 AM

Golden State shorthanded, my dad always said, you have good days and bad days.

Im guessing they didn't cover the point spread by a healthy margin which takes in accounts injuries....I don't think dallas is amped any additionally to play them without Curry and the fact GS already has a loss... Golden State was a 3.5 point favorite by the way at tipoff.... so with all the excuses they were still favored by what really counts the betting line....

There are bad nights and there are BAAD nights.. I just checked..they lost the spread by 26.5 points....that's going to be a top 5 spread amount loser for the entire year.....like I said no excuse...just don't lose the spread worse than 99% of all NBA games for the year.

a loss is just one loss...all im saying theres no excuse to lose the point spread by 26.5 points at this point in the year...especially when you are favored to win the game..

The Spurs won 112-79 against phoenix yesterday...at least phoenix showed heart and only lost the spread by 18.5 points, golden state can learn something about that..

pariah1107 12-31-2015 08:42 AM

29-2 is still ahead of the Bulls season record setting team after 31 games (28-3).

I'm pretty sure the Lakers and Sixers winning on the same night is some sort of sign of the Apocalypse :) Boiling seas soon to follow....

The 1996 Bulls lost 2 games by 1 .(their only 2 home losses on the year were by 1 point each)....plus 9 of the 10 losses were by 10 points or less....

however they did lose by 32 to the Knicks on March 10, 1996 but they were outscored by 16 in the 4th Q so the game wasn't a blowout like GS from beginning to end...

Jordan was 32 or so..a lot older than Curry.....still since the Bulls had a BAADD game on the road i will excuse Golden State which I am sure they will breath easier tonight because of that..

Bulls only lost 3 games in the playoff that year as well and one of them in OT... so 15-3 in the playoffs and 72-10 in regular season 87-13 not bad.. Played 100 games and won 87..

chaddurbin 12-31-2015 03:56 PM

so with that loss it just proves to the rest of the league gs is a knee injury, twisted ankle, olynyk shoulder-lock, or a hard hit to curry and that team turns into a middle of the pack also-ran. there's no sizzle without the steak...just saying if this was the 90's riley would've put out a hit call to anthony mason (rip). curry solidifies his mvp with that loss.

Golden State is a fun team to watch and I'm rooting for them to have a great season and finish it off with a title, but I don't think there's too many people that think they're actually better then that Bulls team.

Jordan, Pippen, Rodman and company would have given the Warriors fits defensively. Curry would have gotten his pound of flesh, but Klay Thompson would most likely be shut down completely.

talkinbaseball 01-02-2016 07:05 AM

Golden State vs. the Denver Nuggets tonight.

Is Steph playing tonight?

hope everyone had a good start to the new year.

Living in Connecticut I really don't get to see the Warriors play much, When I've been watching the highlights, it reminds so much of watching coach Wooden's UCLA team's when I was young.
