Sss
I think this was / is 3 brothers, located in MI. I first bought from them via an ad in Sports Collectors Digest maybe 20 years ago. Then when feebay arrived, a few times from their auctions. Never a problem. Goods arrived as described / as pictured. Dunno how active they are anymore, but wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.

Triple SSS
I believe it is owned by mile and Mark Skerbe (twin brothers). They are great guys and are honest as the day is long. They have been around for at least 20 years and are always at the National. You can’t go wrong with them.
|
Thumbs up
Bought a nice PSA 7 '69 Reggie from them in 2017, and finished the deal over the phone. Good service, rapid delivery, and no problems whatsoever.
Price was a fairly significant premium, but to be fair it was a premium card for grade, so not sure where they typically come in on value. I would have no hesitations buying from them again, and enjoyed the experience. |
I have bought from them a few times and have been happy with the cards and service.

Just bought a card from them last week and their packaging was top notch.
|
Yep....they've been around forever. Have seen them at shows for years and years. Haven't bought much because I don't do the PSA high grade stuff that much but I've never heard anything bad about them.
|

As good as it gets. They are great.

Thumbs up as well. I made a few deals. Also theey always had cards that I liked but a few dollars more that I wanted to pay on several of them. However years later I looked back and wish I would of snapped up some of those.
|
Thank you for all the feedback!
Thank you one and all.

Triple S
I went to school with the Skerbe brothers. Great guys, top notch sellers.
|
Agree all around. Made several BIN purchases from that eBay store in past year of high grade post-war HOF. In my experience they were certainly asking full value, but never unreasonable. Still very happy with items and transactions.
|
They are as good as they come when it comes to dealers in my opinion. Top guys in Michigan.
|
triple sss
He/They have bought cards from me many times. Not afraid to spend
good money on quality items and always prompt payment. |
It looks like Blowout has a different opinion.

Especially funny to see the purple label guy giving them a verbal b j for buying from them. I wonder if they were sold by the purple label guy with purple labels or not, before the salon appointment? I hope people can see that it's all trimmed and recolored. All of it. Thanks PSA, Nice job. Everyone is in on it, IMHO EXCEPT the purple label guys, they are the real heroes here. |

Hi Howard,
I've gotten 1 or 2 higher end items from there for my registry set in the past couple years and was satisfied. |

So many people are clueless and have no idea who is altering cards or not, wake up there’s been a lot of these guys around for a long time and they’re not going anywhere. It’s really a sad situation....I go back to People do not want to believe their cards are altered in PSA holders, but guess what many are. Fairytales can come true they can happen to you if you continue to believe this garbage from PSA. They do not know if the card is altered or not, they do not care, it’s all about numbers and volume.
Don’t be a sucker. |

I am not a big player by any means, but i am also done. The only thing i will do now is pop a few wax boxes a year just for my personal satisfaction. Its altered vintage, altered modern, altered everything. Just done.

Maybe Jeff can represent SSS as well?
He could probably make an entire career just from representing card doctors. |

The leaps in price of some of those cards is absolutely mind-boggling. Moreso then most of the examples I saw in the PWCC thread.
Crazy. :( |
Add that Maris to the 5k and up list..
Glad i largely stayed away from these guys and no longer regret 'missing' out on a few cards. Perhaps some lawyers on the board want to say some bad things about them as way to get hired... |

I seem to recall many years ago WhenItWasAGame aka "WIWAG" got caught switching cards in PSA holders and the fact that they were endorsed by PSA got PSA sued by a third party for damages. Whether PSA still stands behind their dealers products is a question that I can't answer. Regardless, the whole mess is disgusting and I can confidently say this is only the tip of the iceberg. |
This may shed some light on what I was talking about:

As I posted, PSA touted their impeccable reputation in an ad for them when they launched a new website. Indeed.

Day 1 from the National Report Of Newport Beach
Lines out of control from 1600-2000 tomorrow looks to be the same if not more busy.. I expect PSA leadership will keep the status quo from Orlando..... People seem to not care one bit about PSA’s failures in grading altered cards.... |

It's so rampant it's actually very funny that they had us believing this BS this long. Ask yourself where were all these 10's growing up? :D:D:D That's right, they are made after the fact and sealed in a stupid plastic holder, to be cracked out and fucked with again at a latter date. ALL OF THEM. In and out they spin by assholes that can't just leave well enough alone. Losers that couldn't figure out a real career so they thought they would just scam people. The lowest form of human scum, IMHO. This is the biggest scam since tulip bulbs. Keep up the great work Super Dan, Corndog and Agent 312. Never Stop. Continue to show the people what's really going on. Hundreds of thousands cards and a billion dollars skimmed in 15 years by my abacus. |

What really blows my mind is that if it wasn't for the hubris of thinking they were uncatchable geniuses they could've been, well, uncatchable.

Somebody once said that 60% of bank robbers are never caught, and 40% are idiots. I would argue that 100% are idiots, but the point of the quote is that most of them get away. I suspect only the bottom few percent have been outted as of yet. Sad and disturbing, I know. Ugh. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk |

Chuck, please explain your reasoning for the red highlighted statement below. Please explain why when I responded to you in a PM with a polite tone, you chose to respond with vulgarities and accusations. I gave a sincere effort to try to remedy your recklessness, but you were impossible all the way through. I feel your frustration with the current climate. I am trying to do something positive for the card community. Making untruthful generalizations on a public forum is damaging. Please refrain from this type of behavior in the future. Thanks PSA, Nice job. ~ ~ ~ Hi Chuck, I did not say anything about triplessscard's listings. I made a comment on them buying from me. What they choose to do after they buy cards is a different story. Change your comment. It is reckless and incorrect. - Greg --------------- after further review, I will edit it somewhat. You still gave him a verbal blowjob so that stands. All you fuckers are in on the gag. I'm sure you gave him a ridiculous purple label after the fact... for your buddy. Thanks, Chuck Are you at the national? I would like to talk face to face. It seems there is some form of miscommunication here. Call me 631-885-0495 - GREG frankly. I wouldn't waste my time going there. I'll give you ring tomorrow. Take care, Chuck (818) XXX-XXXX |

The restoration work done on those cards is f*cking incredible - wow! Moser doesn't come even close! If there are card doctors in our hobby who are THIS good ... oh man ... scary sh*t! I'm just going to spend HOURS now examining my cards (LOL!)
I also agree that private messages and phone numbers, etc. should not be posted on here. By the way, the guys on Blowout Forums are posting Net54 links! HEY GUYS, WHAT'S UP? TIME FOR A MERGER OR WHAT? :) |

Why don't you do the hobby a favor and share with everyone what you sold the latest scammer, YOUR CUSTOMER, TRIPPLESSINC? were they in holders, with purple labels? raw or what? DON'T YOU think it's a CONFLICT OF INTEREST? 2nd of all, It was a private message that "you are in on the gag" it was a joke. :D:D:DBut being that you want to take this private message public and call me in the middle of the night, it's your problem dick wad. I will repeat for the record, I don't have an ax to grind with you or your company, but when your partner says he's going to make false claims against my business, I get a little defensive. I have the recording from our phone call when he states that he will do that. That's something I would never do. If he does besmirch my company it will be a civil matter and you can expect to get sued. This is a message board governed by opinions. It is my opinion that the purple labels are one of the stupidest things I have ever seen...and your selling cards on top of it..LOLOLO CONFLICT OF INTEREST, LOOK IT UP and leave me the fuck alone cock gobbler. Obviously, I'm not the only one to take issues with what you're doing with the purple labels. http://www.net54baseball.com/showthread.php?t=254339 why don't you call everyone in this thread and threaten them that thinks the same way I do about purple labels. IMHO, they are retarded and I'm sure it will bomb! KABOOOOOM! |
Nothing personal but I think all these high end stickers are a gimmick at best. These, PWCC's, and whatever else is out there. Too much potential for conflict of interest too.

I posted a thread about the card on the CU forums late last night, got a fair amount of comments and as soon as work started this morning in Newport Beach the thread went the way of Keyser Soze.

Bump; the PSA 10 is for sale on Heritage Auctions right now. C'mon PSA, pull the card and put it in an AUTH ALTERED holder. And scan it for posterity so the Genamint software can theoretically pick it out next time when it gets cracked and resubmitted to your incompetent company.

Amazing how many people get hoodwinked every day in this hobby. Ya think maybe we need to raise the criteria a smidge before we go off giving recommendations? It just has to be based on more than the seller having a card ya needed, no? Maybe not... |
Quote:
PS there is a Blowout thread discussing this very seller and it's not particularly flattering. Speaking generally, this hobby sure has thrown a lot of heroes up the pop charts (continuing my theme from another thread) who just maybe didn't deserve it. |
