Rolling Stones 2024
Anyone psyched to see them? Will be the tour of the year.
I must confess the Stones have never done it for me. Just never got on the very crowded RS bandwagon. But they've brought a lot of happiness and joy to people's lives so, as my mom would say, god bless 'em. Saw they are playing the Thursday of first week of New Orleans Jazzfest. Oh boy, what a scene and a half that will be. |
When I was a kid in the early 70's, I thought The Rolling Stones was an "old" band.

I do, however, have tickets to see the double bill of The Turnpike Troubadours and Jason Isbell in January. |
I have seen them several times starting in 1994. I didn't see them before that because they used to play everything too fast. I was actually going to buy tickets to see them this time but saw the CHEAPEST tickets for Philly were close to $500 without the charges. Only a few years ago I paid $600 each and sat near the stage. I can't justify that much. maybe the prices will drop I heard they did not sell out Philly.

Now if they could only find 80 year "Hells Angels" to guard the stage like in the old days it would be worth the ticket I guess, i.e. "Just a Shot Away"!

I’ve seen so many huge concerts. Most of my music bucket list has long been crossed off. Seen a lot of shows. Prob 30 or more some years.
At this point I’m happy to go to a bar a hear a guy or a woman with a guitar and a nice voice play some songs. Love supporting young artists. Dont really need to be with 70,000 others. And have zero interesting paying $700 to see a show. I paid big bucks not so long to see McCartney, dead center tenth row. That was a bucket list item of all time. |

I couldn't resist the Temptation.
It was the third of September That day I'll always remember, yes I will 'Cause that was the day, that my daddy died I never got a chance to see him Never heard nothin' but bad things about him "Momma I'm depending on you, to tell me the truth" And Momma just hung her head and said... "Son, Papa was a rolling stone, (my son) Wherever he laid his hat was his home (And when he died) All he left us was alone Papa was a rolling stone, (my son) Wherever he laid his hat was his home (And when he died) All he left us was alone Well, well" "Hey Momma, is it true what they say That Papa never worked a day in his life? And Momma, some bad talk goin' round town Sayin' that Papa had three outside children and another wife And that ain't right Heard them talking Papa doing some store front preachin' Talked about saving souls and all the time leeching Dealing in debt, and stealing in the name of the Lord" Momma just hung her head and said... "Papa was a rolling stone, (my son) Wherever he laid his hat was his home (And when he died) All he left us was alone Hey, Papa was a rolling stone, (my son) Wherever he laid his hat was his home (And when he died) All he left us was alone Uh" "Hey Momma, I heard Papa called himself a jack of all trades Tell me, is that what sent Papa to an early grave? Folks say Papa would beg, borrow, steal to pay his bills Hey Momma, folks say that Papa never was much on thinking Spent most of his time chasing women and drinking Momma I'm depending on you to tell me the truth" And Momma looked up with a tear in her eye and said... "Son, Papa was a rolling stone (my son) (Well, well, well, well) Wherever he laid his hat was his home (And when he died) All he left us was alone Lone, lone, lone, alone Papa was a rolling stone (my son) Wherever he laid his hat was his home (And when he died) All he left us was alone I said, Papa was a rolling stone (my son) Wherever he laid his hat was his home (And when he died) All he left us was alone" |
