Of course, the game has changed dramatically over the years. I started to follow NBA games seriously in the late 1960's, and I loved the way it was played then. Everything revolved around the center position, and you needed a Chamberlain or a Russell or a Thurmond to be successful. There were no three point shots, and players drove to the basket more. With the advent of the ABA, the game began to open up.

I agree that today's game is not perfect. But the athleticism of today's players is simply amazing. Have you seen Duke's Zion Williamson yet, who is likely to be the first pick in this year's draft? He's built like a cement truck but runs the court like a gazelle. I don't think he is a fully polished player, but as an athlete he is a phenomenon. Everything changes.

Chicago 168, Atlanta 161 in quadruple overtime. You don't see that every day. Third highest score in NBA history.

My sons and younger nephews are all crazy about the NBA and college hoops. Clearly the sport with hugest buzz among younger folks. The athleticism is off the hook and they love the pace of the sport. And is growing exponentially internationally as well.

I watched most of that game. Unreal, crazy game, nearly 4 hrs long. 108 3pt shots attempted.

I would rather watch the cows on our street chew their cud. Much more exciting to me.

That was an excellent video Leon. I found it inspiring.

In my moderator way please note the inclusion as the cow is Black, Brown and White. I think it might be gay too!! Otherwise, I find the cow more exciting than pro basketball. I love basketball, just not watching the "pros" run around like it's a pick up street game, which is what it always looks like to me. Go Cows!!

Same here. If I wanted to watch the "pros" I may as well make the 75 mile trip north from Houston to Huntsville to the state penitentiary. Same class of individuals and it's much cheaper than an NBA game.

As opposed to the fine class of men in the NFL?

I am not a fan of streetball. It's more akin to pinball than basketball. I prefer old fashioned fundamentals and fierce defense.

What happens in every single NBA arena?

When the visiting team has possession, the fans predictably start the only cheer they seem to know.

Dee Fence (Repeat ad nauseum)

Is this really the only PC cheer allowed in the NBA?

Let’s help them out. The obvious addition when the home team has possession would be

Oh Fence (Repeat ad nauseum)

Any other ideas?

Paul S 05-15-2019 06:33 AM

No ideas. I'm a fence sitter.

vintage mesiah 05-15-2019 07:44 PM

I’m on the fence for some ideas.
