SOT 1948 Leaf boxing Cards Question
 

Posted By: <b>James Gallo</b><p>I realize this is slightly off topic so Leon feel free to remove it.<br /><br />I have 2 1948 Leaf boxing cards of Abe Attell. Both have been graded by different companies. My question is that the card look totally different.<br /><br />The one on the right has a nice white front with a yellow or toned back. The one on the left has a yellow or toned front and the back has a raw cardboard look similar to early bowmans.<br /><br /><img src="http://www.thetoyheaven.com/images/items/attellft.jpg"><br /><br /><img src="http://www.thetoyheaven.com/images/items/attellbk.jpg"><br /><br />Is this a running chance on the set or what?<br /><br />Any help would be great and feel free to email me at jgallony@aol.com.<br /><br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />James Gallo<br><br>Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.

Posted By: <b>Jay</b><p>Just like the '48 Leaf football set, two different cardboards were used in production. In the football set all high numbers come with gray and cream colored cardboard. In the boxing set all cards, I believe, come both ways.

And, the White ones<br />are brighter on the front than the Gray ones.<br /><br />The 50th card, the extremely rare Rockie Graziano, is only found with White cardboard.....<br />that is if you can find it. Only a handful of Graziano cards have been found.<br /><br />TED Z
