Need help determining year and some players on two postcards

They are from the Puerto Rican winter league, obviously. I am trying to nail down any information that I can on what year they are from, and I have to guess that the only way to do that is to figure out some of the players depicted.

I think that I see Quincy Trouppe on the Caguas postcard, but that doesn't help as I have no idea where to find rosters from the Puerto Rico winter league from the 1940's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you show the backs? I know that on US real photo postcards, the stamp areas can help in determining course date ranges.

I did a Google search, and found that Cerveza India (the brewery) was founded in November 1937, and the baseball team Los Indios de Mayaguez began in 1938.

Edited to add:

Quincy Trouppe was the player/manager of Caguas in the 1947-48 season.

Here is an image of the back. Both postcards have the same back.

AZOs are pretty common, but the four squares stamp box started in 1926 and ran into the 40s, according to the chart.

By the look of their uniforms and clothing I am going with circa 1930s - 1940s.....well, I guess that doesn't nail it down but it is probably correct. :)

This page has the same Team Mayaguez postcard and says it is from 1940-41. They also say that Buck Leonard was on the team at that time so I'm wondering if that's him down in the lower left.

That was a tremendous help...thank you so much. That's for everyone who responded so far as well. Thank you. The other one seems to be roughly from the same era I think.

Is there any online resource for rosters for the Puerto Rico winter league from the 1940's?

I don't know about rosters for all of the 1940s, but that link I included had the 1940-41 roster.

Tom:

Not sure about a resource for old Puerto Rican baseball teams, Cuban baseball info is easier to find. Cesar Lopez used to have a fantastic sight with all Caribbean baseball info but it has not been active for a couple of years now.

I'm not sure about years of these teams but can say that there is no Buck Leonard. Very neat pieces though, best of luck with the search for more info.
