A few HOFer's on my birthday may 14th.
Tony Perez
Ed Walsh
Earle Combs

I guess my favorite would be Dennis Martinez

RIP Roy Halladay

Tennis13 12-13-2017 01:54 PM

The venerable Heine Meine for best name.
Joe Hietpas as my Northwestern twin
Marcus Stroman as the legitimate best, perhaps?

mattsey9 12-14-2017 11:31 PM

Tim Raines & Robin Yount.

the 'stache 12-15-2017 02:43 AM

September 23rd. The numbers show Matt Kemp, but my heart tells me former Brewer Jeff Cirillo.

barrysloate 12-15-2017 08:09 AM

August 4:

Roger Clemens and Jake Beckley

the 'stache 12-15-2017 08:47 AM

You've got me beat, Barry!

I was hoping for somebody like Eddie Collins, Al Simmons or Johnny Bench.

It's just random Bill. Didn't have much say on the date.:)

And John Coltrane was born on September 23, so you share with a giant in the field of jazz!

Chris Counts 12-15-2017 04:08 PM

I'm stuck with Zeke Bonura.

frankbmd 12-15-2017 04:28 PM

I am clearly the best baseball player born on my birth date. Sad.:D

There is no major league competition.

At least I once worked for the Cubs.

However, my birth day is slightly better, being shared by three T206ers and Hall of Fame hopeful, Felix Millan.

I thought I was stuck with Ferris Fain born on march 29, but checked and I have Cy Young---Wow

Perhaps we could either extend this thread or start a new one with:

What single calendar date has the most:

HOFers

best pitching

best offense

best defense

or the best players, in the hall or not

or just the most players to make it to the show.

Now, that's a good bit of research, if someone wants to take the Mantle (10/20).

My father shares a birthday with Mantle.

For me Joe Morgan is the best match.

mcgwirecom 12-21-2017 03:43 PM

Interesting thread.

I always knew this about my father, who was a fairly good baseball player in high school. He was born the same day as Jimmie Foxx (10/22) and died the same day as Mickey Mantle (8/13)

I was born on 5/14 same day as TWO Perfect Game pitchers, Dennis Martinez and Roy Halladay.

DeanH3 12-24-2017 10:10 AM

June 18th - Lou Brock.

rayray 12-24-2017 10:39 AM

Living in San Diego, it's only fitting to share the same birthday with Mr.Padre himself, Tony Gwynn (may09)!!:)

Stampsfan 12-31-2017 05:03 AM

Farrah Fawcett, born February 2nd... Ground Hogs Day.

Ok, not a ball player, but would be a helluva catch.

PowderedH2O 01-01-2018 08:40 AM

Christy Mathewson and Bob Buhl racked up over 500 wins, so that's a strong 1-2 pitching punch for August 12th. Harlond Clift is the best hitter. I actually got an autograph from Harlond years ago in which I mentioned that we shared a birthday. Barry Manuel and Joe Millette were born on the same day as me. I met Barry at a Spring Training game and I mentioned that and he asked to see my driver's license. He got a kick out of that. And we were both from Louisiana.

profholt82 01-02-2018 11:18 AM

It looks like I share a birthday with Hall of Fame manager Walter Alston. Apparently we both attended Miami University as well which is cool.

As far as strictly players go, probably George Foster with an honorable mention to Larry Walker.

39special 01-02-2018 05:42 PM

April 29. Luis Aparicio not to bad.
