American Memorabilia

Posted By: Paul
I just received my catalog for the American Memorabilia auction, and I guess I am going to confess my unbridled ignorance. The catalog is entitled "Old Judge" auction. The front cover has a picture of what I believe is one of the recently discovered Old Judge Flynn proofs. But there's not a single Old Judge card or proof anywhere in the auction. At least nothing I could find. What gives?

Posted By: Paul
It still seems pretty silly to send out a catalog with an Old Judge proof on the cover, call it the "Old Judge auction," and not list a single Old Judge lot in the catalog, and not even mention that the Old Judges are listed on line. I guess that's why I'm not in charge of a big time auction house.

Posted By: Julie
I'm puzzled by the knob on the (business) end of Flynn's bat. Did they make bats like that? Seems to me it would send the ball off in all sorts of unexpected directions (knob bat is only on the cover and in the second photo of
Flynn on the auction page. There's one other photo of him with a normal bat).

I'm putting the catalogue in a big Mylar envelope right away! I have a feeling that this is not the last we will all hear of this, even though we've heard a lot!
