Even though the auto maybe is not as bold, I would say no.

The guy selling these, including the Kingman, had some amazing pack fresh Blackless for cheap prices. Hate that i missed the Schmidt...caught sleeping. I think he listed them at like 2am. Picked up some other HOF & stars for around $100.

I missed out on 2 that I needed but I bought all the rest of the Mets he had, even though I had a couple already, they were too nice to pass up.

The Kingman came today and the black is much lighter than the scan shows, it might not be a blacklessing but not worth the trouble to send back.

if it is the same seller I think you may be talking about, user name starts with a C...then if you win something from them, you may get heads up emails. I get them from a seller when items are being listed, but usually don't see them until it's too late anyway. I guess I should check email more often.

Wow - I missed that Schmidt as well - must have BIN'ed fairly quickly. I have a few e-mail alerts looking for examples of that card

Half of the 792 cards in the 1982 Topps set were printed with no black ink on the front of the cards and released to the public. It's estimated that there are 100 of each of those 396 in existence. The cards are missing the facsimile signatures and the thin black border line. On a few teams the players position is missing (Pirates, Phillies?), and on the All Star cards the players name is missing.

Thanks Cliff. I appreciate it.

Blackless (ing)

When I put this set together a few years back I got most of the A & B cards from sellers in NY and most of the C cards from sellers in Michigan. C's were very tough, B's too, A's a little less. Some cards sold as Blackless did have some grey remnants. I assume you could complete the set with gray or faded black, as well as blackless. I settled for a few transition examples. There is Blueless too :)
