1998 Hamburger Helper Variation - Can anyone shed some light on this?

While trolling eBay, I seem to have come upon a variation of the 1998 Hamburger Helper Mike Piazza card. (See photos below.) The first card is the card that I'm used to seeing. However, the second card features a completely different photo (although a similar one), and the stock on the reverse is white (as opposed to brown).

Can anyone shed some light on this?

There's an additional white border around the bottom one. Is it possibly cut from a box or a proof card/mock-up used during production?

I think that the "additional white border" is simply a penny sleeve.

Duh!!!

Never mind. I responded to soon. Upon closer examination, I see what you mean. The white border is only on the front of the card and not on the back.

There are a few subtle differences on the backs of the two cards. On the white back card "Norristown, PA" doesn't extend as far out as it does on the normal card, the bio on the white back card is spaced differently so that it is completed in four lines but on the normal card it is in five lines with the fifth being just the word "majors", and on the white back card there is a printing code in the lower right corner that is not on the normal card, A08393.

Since it doesn't have the "Kraft" back, I would venture to guess that it isn't a cut-out, and most likely a promo card sent to stores and/or media. The A08393 printing code seems indicative of a one-off.
