Photos used for cards

It's always interesting to see the photos that were either used for baseball cards or depict the same images. Here is a recent pick up....anyone else? (the card is only for comparison, I don't own it)

Leon...:I am amazed that Lou held that awkward pose for long enough to have the spectators in the back of your photo shooed out of the frame to allow the exhibit card image to be captured! ;)

I believe this photo is the basis for a N167 card. Esterbrook's demise is quite a story.

This has become a very competitive niche sector of the hobby.

LOTS of George Burke photos used for R312, R313, R314 and 1939 and 1940 Play Ball cards in particular. Just a small sampling (in that order):
