Great Player Beaters
Posted By: Paul S
Phil,
Would you know how SGC differentiates on their labels between the BB regular player series and the Jackie Robinson Series? At first the border on your card threw me and then I realized what it was. I mean, wouldn't the regular player series have Jackie's name on the label as well?

- Paul S

Great Player Beaters
Posted By: Phil Garry
Paul:

The regular Bond Bread issue Jackie Robinson card would not have the word "Portrait" on the flip.

Great Player Beaters
Posted By: Paul S
Phil:

Fair enough, although some of the regular issue cards are portraits, e.g., DiMaggio, Reese. A person would have to know about the borders or have seen the Jackie regular issue to know the difference. Maybe I'm nitpicking...

Posted By: John H.
I'm curious; why would a card owner bother sending a beater like that '53 Mantle in for grading?

John
