That Mantle is sick.

deeg23 07-21-2015 07:41 AM

Yeah that Mantle is incredible. Heck they're all pretty sweet! If I wasn't so into advertising, signed RCs would definitely be my go to

Bob,

Very nice cards. Awesome Mantle. Thanks for sharing.

One way to cure bordem. Hope you got my leads on more Mick autos. It be really cool to see you do a Mick run of auto versions.

do you snag an off centered beater up simply because it's the only one available and ya haven't seen one in months or do you wait knowing your whale is right in front of ya yet pass because you think a prettier whale will pop up...it's almost like gambling at certain times and how much of an idiot i feel like knowing i shoulda just snagged the beater....

Bob,

I struggle with the same thought processes at times regarding should I settle for a certain card even though it is in poorer condition than I would normally accept. I have decided to stick with my standards regarding the condition of cards that I purchase for up to a year. After a year, if I cannot locate the particular card in the condition I want than I downgrade my standard and pick up a card that is in less than optimum condition. Don't let the search make you feel like an idiot or frustrate you. The search is what makes this hobby so much fun.

Thanks again for sharing your cards.

Duane

Autos

Nice. I have thought of trying to complete an autograph set - and have about 28 in a Topps set. Thought better of it.

Nice auto cards.

For your signed rookies, is your goal to get most of the hall of famers of all 4 major sports?

JTysver 08-09-2015 05:34 AM

Jackie Robinson or Roberto Clemente would be real gems.

A Clemente auto rookie would be very pricey and rare.

100%. but it's more about finding it and then convincing current owner to sell it than the monetary costs.

The King Kong of known signed rookies, in my opinion, is this one. I believe there are two known examples signed, of barely 30 examples in all grades. This card is not mine, but I know where it is-- and unfortunately not for sale. I guarantee it will be one of the tougher ones in the set to obtain, perhaps moreso than Clemente.

Nice cards. Can you really call the NNOF a NNOF card now that you've added the name though? :)

Nice rice psa 8 auto rookie. And that Gehrig auto exhibit looks like it would grade pretty high.

Bob:

Lots of great auto RC's, Bob. Must have cost huge bucks with just the stuff you've picked up over the past month. Wish I could afford a few of them..........

bender07 08-20-2015 10:31 AM

Great stuff. I had this collecting focus about 10 years ago and got pretty far along. Another really tough I had was the '52 Matthews. Don't see those everyday :)
