First, I can't thank the board enough for their help as I continue to go through my father's collection and figure out what he had. As I continue to search, I've found the following autographs I was hoping to get opinions on. I'll post each in order, along with any notes I found as to when/where they were purchased. Thanks so much for the opinions!

1) Babe Ruth signed FDC - purchased 1994 (no indication from whom)
2) Connie Mack signed 1951 Topps - N/A
3) Roger Maris signed index card - appears to have been purchased from Richard Simon
4) DiMaggio signed Perez Steele - N/A
5) DiMaggio, Foxx, Greenberg signed RPPC - N/A
6) Gehrig, Lazerri & Dickey signed newspaper - purchased 1993 from Oregon Trail auction

wholly Schniekies Jon, Those are gorgeous! I'm betting they are all real...

Very sorry about your dad. He must have had a million stories to tell about those?

All the best!

Condolances to you and your family with regard to your dad...

The Ruth is atypical, but should be OK. It has some good and some questionable traits, but I don't think a forger would go that bold with the inscription. I think it could go either way, but it's probably just somewhat squished into that space, and likely OK. Eager to hear others' thoughts on it.

As for all the rest, I believe you are good-to-go! :)

The Ruth is terrible! Absolutely fake.

Ruth is 10000% no good.

Thanks guys - appreciate everyone who has chimed in so far. Likewise, to the extent anyone has opinions one way or another on the remainder (in addition to those that have already chimed in), I'd greatly appreciate it.

I was pretty sure the Maris would be good given the source, and I though the Foxx and Greenberg were good (I don't know DiMaggio well so just had no idea on either of them). I also thought the Lazzeri and Dickey were spot on, but obviously wanted others thoughts on Gehrig given that he's a big name.

Is it me or the foxx looks traced over to me

Kevin - I actually thought that too but looked under a magnifier (wish I could figure out a way to post it). The Foxx was signed in some pen that bled/feathered on the surface of the postcard, which is somewhat glossy. So, as it was signed, the ink ran all around it. There definitely is not an "under-autograph" that was traced, but there is definitely feathering/bleeding.

I question the Foxx and the Mack

I thought you would say that its bad, didnt even have to look twice to see that it was.

I opine that the Foxx and Greenberg are good, but the DiMaggio is sister signed.

I think the Gehrig, Lazzeri, and Dickey is good as well.

I would have to agree that the Ruth is no good.

I’m not a fan of the Connie Mack either. Way too loose for his signature at that point in his life. Generally much more rigid

Ruth is 1,000% fake,

tha-rock 06-20-2019 11:17 AM

NO on Ruth and Mack, Joe D on photo (sister)
OK on Greenberg, Dickey
Can't say for sure on Gehrig, Lazzeri, Foxx, but leaning toward good
