Value of 1967 Venezuelan Killebrew autographed card?
 

Hi,

So I picked up an oddball for my collection - a 1967 Venezelan card that I BELIEVE is autographed by Harmon Killebrew.

I'm not an autograph collector, so 3 questions for anyone willing to help:

1) Does the autograph look real?

2) I assume this would therefore be rare and valuable, correct? (I know Killebrew signed a lot of stuff - but Venezuelans I would think are VERY rarely signed (outside of players from Venezuela).)

3) Assuming I'm correct on #2, I assume the correct next step is to get the signature authenticated by PSA, correct?

I have seen Harmon sign a bunch of stuff, and I have seen many, many Killebrew autographs, and I have to say that Harmon always signed the most careful, beautiful, consistent autographs. Lines for his signature at shows were notoriously slow because he always took the time to give perfect autographs.

In fact, he once (at least once) told Kent Hrbek that it was important to sign clearly, because people want to be able to read the player's name. Hrbek is a scribbler when signing, and that bothered Harmon.

So... It's my opinion that your card was not signed by Harmon. I have never seen him sign anything anywhere near that sloppy. Frankly, it looks more like something Hrbek would've signed.

I agree. It doesnt appear to actually be signed by him.

That being said- I love Venezuelan cards. They have dropped in price quite a bit over the last 15 yrs, but they are still highly collectible.
