1985 topps football questions

Hey guys so I have mostly the stars from this set . I was think about going for the entire set . It looks cheap and fun . I have noticed a lot of variations in color mostly . Does anybody have any info on errors/ variations in this set ?

I need this set as well.. I've got probably a 1/3 of the set, but i think you can get the whole set pretty cheap. Havne't noticed a ton of color variation although i'm no expert on it. All the cards I have are from various packs from the late 80's. To me it resembles the '62 set as you'll notice chipping around the borders and what not pretty easy on em.

Yeah the borders and centering is hard . The Walter Payton is a gem in high grade . I'll try to put some pics up later of the color variation .

I know that the 85 Patriots cards come with all shades of red and even some that appear orange. Since there are so many different shades I don't think this is a variation, but more of a printing quality control issue.

Sweet cards!

TONS of "color variations" in this set, but I think it had more to do with Topps running out of ink rather than any purposeful format changes. :D

You guys are probably right . But you don't think there are any cards that would be considered a variation or error ?

I was 12 when this set came out and do remember rumors of color variation with some All-Pro designations (White and Yellow).

Rookiemonster, If you need cards for this set LMK, I've got many, many dupes. Happy Collecting.
