Gauging interest for a PSA Piggyback Special!!

Im rounding up raw cards as we speak! Just wanted to see if others that are rounding up raw are interested in sending some cards off to PSA under their monthly special next month!

bobbyw8469 04-07-2017 04:22 AM

I find it hard to believe there is no interest.....

gopherfan 04-09-2017 01:17 PM

I'm interested, but I don't have any cards currently ready to send. I have thousands that I have sent on my own, but recently let my membership expire. When are you sending? And what is the current monthly special?

swarmee 04-09-2017 02:33 PM

I've got cards to slab. I sent 20 in on the Blowout bulk submission to PSA two months ago. I can probably find 10 no problem and may go up to 30.

I am in no hurry....I was thinking of seeing what the May specials were. I am currently rounding up raw as we speak....

April specials suck right?

Not really; the pre-1956 cards at $6.25 each is pretty good. Will probably be after the Set Registry deadline before the price drops (like June or July). I would send in 20-30 on the Pre-1956 if you're going to send any, Bobby.

bobbyw8469 04-11-2017 06:44 PM

Yea...we can do some then....around $6ish seems to be the norm now. I doubt very seriously we see anything below $6 ever again, although I could be mistaken.

I have a few I'd like to send but I'm traveling for business and won't be home till the 21st. If it's after that, I'm in.

I may be interested. I did have a PSA subscription last year but let it lapse. I have submitted with you before and it went very smooth.

Do you have a deadline?

A deadline??? It's not even official yet...lol....once we see what the special are and decide we want to do them, then we will jump!

Ok. Sorry I was confused. Someone mentioned the current deal is $6.25/card, and you replied right after stating "we can do some then". So I thought you meant we can do some on this month's special.

The special has been around $6 for every month that I can think of for the past 8 months....

Last month was 6 bucks for a quicker turnaround. this is 50 day turnaround. That is forever,

kailes2872 04-19-2017 07:18 PM

Bobby, I have a 1/2 dozen or so that I could send in. Let me know when, where, how much (how much postage & insurance + the card cost) and I will send them your way.

Thanks

bobbyw8469 04-20-2017 10:42 AM

Will do!!!

JollyElm 04-30-2017 01:47 AM

I've never submitted anything for grading before, so i would need a bit of guidance with valuation and what not, but if you plan on doing a group submission, please give me a heads up, too. Thanks!

swarmee 04-30-2017 04:49 AM

I re-upped my membership and will be submitting the cards myself. Thanks, though. When it comes to evaluating your values, you should put the replacement value of a similar conditioned raw card. If it's a $20 card raw that could be $500 in PSA 10, put the $20 raw value. The people evaluating the cards don't see your submission information or valuation. If for some reason the PSA 10 comes through, they may contact the submitter to have that specific card upgraded to a different service level (or may not). If they do, hey, no problem, you now have a $500 card.

swarmee 05-01-2017 01:28 AM

Pre-56 went up to $6.50 a card, and no special for post-56.

swarmee 05-01-2017 06:57 PM

Your best option, I guess, is to pool 100 cards and do the $7/card bulk submission because it doesn't require any specific years.

vintagerookies51 05-03-2017 02:44 PM

I have a couple cards I would like to submit- let me know if I can hop on!

bobbyw8469 05-03-2017 03:05 PM

Well...as everyone knows, the specials suck this month....

PowderedH2O 05-07-2017 03:31 PM

If you guys want to sub in May for the $6.50 special, I can submit, and you can piggyback with me. I have about 20-30 cards ready right now. I can do it in May, or I can wait. It really doesn't make a whole lot of difference. But, if other people want to jump in, it might save a bit on postage, so it might bring the $6.50 down to something reasonable when the shipping is factored in. If I go in May, it will be around the end, like the 30th or so. If nobody wants to jump in, I may go it alone, or I might wait another month. I have a 60 count order at PSA right now. That'll pop around August I guess...
