Insane !!!!

I just received this today, an impulse buy. It was a nice looking card of a HOFer, real cheap, so I snagged it. I don't collect the 59's, so this is easily the nicest one in my collection.

Do raw 59's get love?
6 Attachment(s)
Here are some (most) of the '59's I have, plus the Clemente PSA 6 I picked up last night in the Sterling Sports Auction. These raw ones aren't as nice as those high PSA's, but I think they deserve a little love too.

'59 Topps Brooks
Q: for you '59 experts. While I have a lower grade Brooks Robinson '59 Topps card I would one day like to acquire a high grade example. As far as cards, I pretty much narrow my focus to Brooksie cards so I'd like to ultimately upgrade. So, are there any particular issues with this card, like focus/registration, issues w/the yellow circle or color in general, surface problems, etc. with this card? Also, any type of variations? This is one of my favorite cards of Brooks so I'd like to get a nice one.
Thanks in advance! |
1959 Topps...
I only have two examples...

Nice 1959's all....and, yes, the raw cards should get some love....they are beauties.
Mark, the '59 Brooks Robinson is an easy card to find in high grade, not terribly expensive and it is a card without any special challenges. |

Appreciate the insight on the '59 Topps Brooks Robinson. While I collect all types of Brooks items I'm sure not an expert on certain aspect of particular cards. When I first started collecting cards I wasn't really that concerned with the shape, picked up probably Ex/Exmt range, so now I'm a little more concerned with condition so I'd like to upgrade when I have an opportunity. |
You are welcome, Mark. Good luck in your quest to find a really nice BRobby.

Nice cards fellas!
love all of the 50s issues, but a grouping of 59s really pop! |
All you wanted to know about Roy Sievers based on his '59 Highlight card...

A recent LCS pickup. I paid a 6 range price, but wonder if it might be a candidate for a 7. Corners by Gillette...

Awesome cards everyone!! OP - concur - nicest 6's I've seen - WOW! Don - there aren't sufficient words - request to post your Clemente.
While I do like the 1959 cards - I like the odd and unusual stuff more. So enjoy this far and away nicest condition of the 3 graded copies known. I have a couple of tough 59 Venezuelans I will try to dig out and post. |
Must be my eyes, I can't tell a 6 from a 10 !

Sorry for the crappy photo, but this is probably my favorite '59 in my collection. Got all of these guys through the mail in the late 1980s.
