Here's an interesting one

...and the seller's id says it all

The interesting thing, Mike, is that that is not a forgery. It is a rubber stamp used by the Yankees to respond to mail requests for Mantle's signature on sent-in items. I received one in 1961.

Wow David, I can usually spot stamped autos but this one really went over my head. Ugly no matter what it is. Well, it's off to get new glasses for me, :D

David, can you post a pic of yours? The seller insists he got it in person, and is getting tired of us emailing him it's a stamp.

I just wish he'd have a Maris for sale.

Is this a joke? He sold one, and I've been emailing the buyer.

That's it, Shelly. I'd post mine, Ken, but it's buried somewhere in the basement--in a very safe place, I'm sure.

BTW, back in '61 I also requested a Maris autograph on my piece, and got a nice stamped Maris back in the same envelope.

Hmm, and now some seller just happens to have TWO autographs: a stamped Maris and a stamped Mantle!

That was awful nice of Mantle to stamp it in person for the guy
