Your favorite ebay stores: Sound off!

Hello All,

I am starting a new project involving positive
promotion. This is not another poll derived
from boredom. It has a real purpose.

I would like to hear everybody’s favorite eBay
stores/sellers. You may list as many as you like.
Please cite any reasons why you decide to include
your choices.

Thanks and let’s make this fun!

Jason 08-21-2018 12:31 PM

1.Davidbvintage
2. Other stores

Besides my own???

gratefuldog3 08-21-2018 12:50 PM

davidbvintage.. Bought my Boston Store Ruth from him in 2004.

lowpopper 08-21-2018 01:06 PM

Plug me in

Yes besides your own. Lol. But shameless plugs are acceptable.

Rookie-Parade is high on my list. Those guys know how to sell cards. :D

Painthistorian offers great deals....99 cent auctions on sgc graded

I honestly do love PWCC although I just see it as a big machine. Again,
I also get great deals on sgc graded from them.

Invest let’s nice stuff rip at 99 cents.

Oh and hey, there was one time I bought something from battlefield and I didn’t return it.

Any similar commentary is appreciated. Thanks.

As a lurker, and semi-consistent poster (who has never met anyone on this forum), I would (as almost strictly a buyer) very much like to know what eBay (or other) stores people on here have.

Makes a reach out and a BST sale easier to happen. I know I've looked at some of your stores on the Bay, strictly because I like the banter and information you share.

Me too! It seems like many on board are eBay sellers or dealers. Would be cool to know

pokerplyr80 08-21-2018 06:36 PM

I prefer cards with excellent centering and have found Brady for prewar and Jeff of card country for postwar always have a great selection and are willing to strike a fair deal.

For Ebay auctions I've had great experiences with Sean at invest and pwcc.

Like I said shameless plugs are OK. Just add some real content with it
so I can work on this project. Thanks.

I agree with this 100%. If you are a seller, Please list your eBay handle. I almost never buy anything off eBay unless it’s an auction - for what I collect the BIN prices are often silly. But I have had success tracking eBay sellers offline (through net54 etc) and have found those same silly sellers to be much more reasonable off eBay. So, dealers, that makes at least three of us who would love to know your eBay handles.

brianp-beme 08-21-2018 07:55 PM

kryvintage (Net54's rhettyeakley) always has a huge selection of vintage baseball cards, as well as other vintage cards available as BIN.

davidbvintage has long been a reliable source of vintage, with both auctions and BIN

buythatcard (also a Net54 member) consistently has auctions of vintage cards in collector condition at low starting auction levels.

Lukesvintagecards (surprise, surprise, another Net54 member) has reasonably priced BIN cards right up the Pre-WW2 alley.

Ok.....

Besides W&W.....one of the few sellers NOT named PWCC or Probstein that does .99 cent auctions....

I like Triple Play Vintage for raw cards.

Are there any eBay sellers regularly solicited by any on here that deal in vintage memorabilia instead of cards?

I was being serious...I never had a problem with their raw. BattersBox either.....have you?

Granted, I haven't bought from them in awhile.

No problem with the Battersbox. It has been a while since I used Triple Play. Always a slow, poor experience there. Glad you had a better time of it.

Be careful with GLAH, plenty of discussion about scans that look a little to good as well as case cracking of midgrade cards that look great to sell them to people who think they are getting eights or higher on submission. As long as you pay for a midgrade and don't get gamblers fever it can be ok. They are usually open if trimmed, but I don't know if those cards are returns or they say first.

I've only bought a few raw cards from them and nothing pricey, but they seemed accurately graded to me.

Shameless plug and a few good ones

Shameless plug:

favorite_things

I sell mostly postwar, food issue, test issue and unusual stuff like venezuelans- a mixed bag - I've been selling (and buying) on ebay since 1998 - 99.2% positive feedback (1 negative in 20 years - can't please everyone I guess). I list very intermittently - so you may want to save me as a seller and get emails when I list. Some of the items are pretty rare and get snapped up quick. I am more negotiable off ebay with the net 54 community.

Sellers I've had a good experience buying from:

Lukesvintagecards (mostly prewar) - just started dealing - had a great experience - hope to buy from again.
PWCC - so most of the time I am unwilling to be shilled higher. That said, there is no question they have the goods. I always snipe so I never pay more than I want for a card (I probably win maybe 1 in 20 snipes - a couple times actually well below my bid - too frequently I am the underbidder:mad:)
4_sharp_corners - usually at or above the high side of the market, but once again - they have the goods.
Tampabaycards - for Venezuelans

ibuysportsephemera 08-22-2018 03:01 PM

No cards but lots of publications and ephemera:

Sportmags -Primarily Basketball but I have an inventory of over 30,000 items covering all Sports, Teams and Players.

My partner is:

mvpsportsauctions : Primarily Pro and College Football.

Please contact us if you see something you like. We can do 10% better right off the bat away from eBay.

Thanks,
Jeff

Shameless Plug

Thanks Rob for including us in your list, however, if you are a collector of post-war, raw cards, I don't know that anyone does it better than we do.

gregmorriscards

Everything is auction and everything starts at $0.79 or less with no reserve. We are as reliable as anyone with accurate grading and we list more cards than anyone else (nearly 2400 per day, 7 days a week).

Take a look and PM me if you have any questions; we also get great prices on our sharp, centered, raw cards and I'm always happy to discuss purchasing or consignments with anyone here.

painthistorian - nice cards and good selection, running usually at auction.
Openbinders - reasonably priced nonsports and oddballs by breaking up eBay lots over time (cheaper on his website).
comc_consignment - Huge selection of BINs. Make offers directly on comc.com or buy while on sale. Sales don't port over to eBay/Amazon prices.
floridamoment - from Henry on this board. Amazing collection that he sometimes sells pieces of.

Peter_Spaeth 08-22-2018 03:36 PM

Leon you're missing out on some serious revenue here.:D

I won't mention my ebay user ID unless someone begs me to, but how many other sellers have received a feedback like this one I just received:

The seller has restored my faith in humanity.

Yours truly, Brian, protector, defender and shining exemplar of the human race since earlier this week

Thanks Justin. I learned the hard way with GLAH. Perfect example- I bought a 58 Clemente from him a while ago thinking it would come back a 7 from the pics. It came back a 5. I recently sold it on ebay. Guess who bought it???

I do buy from him still, but am very careful with the pics. However, he does indicate if the cards are trimmed etc. He must have a great camera bc his pics look much better than the card when received.

No problem Josh. When I said vintage, I assumed it included post war. I have never had an issue with Greg Morris and they always answer my questions pretty quickly.

Yes, please do. Everyone!!!

Selfishly, I'd like to believe I could make an offer off eBay through this forum, so I'll add folks as favorite sellers to see what might be out there.

For the Community, I'd prefer to support people who are on here and contributing positively.

Full confession tho... there are some folks I will not buy from, based on some of the antagonistic comments I've read.

auctions are auctions but

Probstein is FAR better than people have portrayed
for a penny auction daily reloader Rick is great.

PWCC is grindhouse but is FAIR. there is NO
photoshop or shilling with PWCC (the Owners themselves shill from home PWCC can not stop it) ____but PWCC does need to retract the ability for bidders to retract dozens of bids. That's absurd and blatant.

REA HERITAGE AND LELANDS are tops clearly IMO

Huggins&Scott Memory Lane and so many others
are in that 2nd spot who am I forgetting? Thank You

Greg Morris the gentleman himself is a gemstone

This is me on ebay. I'm usually {hopefully always} fair. I have Vintage and Modern, mostly fixed price with b/o; many of my items are among the lowest prices on ebay, but really depends on the card, condition, my cost basis, etc. I constantly adjust them both up & down to be competitive. I do run auctions, frequently. I have a tremendous collection, I am drawing from, just not enough time to list.

Oh well, just thought I'd throw my name in the mix. Like the tagline below says.

I read the title as "your favorite ebay stories" and thought this would be a fun thread... Although this is probably a more useful thread it isn't as exciting. :p

My favorite eBay sellers

Here are my favorite eBay sellers:

Probstein - I love the constant auctions and variety.

PWCC - I've heard all of the shilling allegations, but PWCC has great offerings and I've gotten some real steals over the years.

Somersetvelvet - Chris is a great guy and has cool stuff.

And now my shameless self-promotion...

mjhenr02 / Swing Bunt's Vintage Baseball - I generally sell the kind of stuff I collect - lots of pre-war, with a fair amount of high end post-war as well.
