Deer Season

With deer season over in most states, I just wanted to create a thread and see if anyone out there got a deer this year. If so, you may have a story to tell that we can all enjoy.

I am also a deer hunter. But I must warn you, I think it may have been on this site a few years ago someone posted a pic of their harvest and a few people got upset so....

Thanks for the response. People will get upset about anything these days. I've been deer hunting for about 60 years and don't intend to change. Baseball cards and hunting are too of the things that I really enjoy in life and I don't intend to change.

I didn't get one this year but that's ok - I enjoyed going. I'm glad to see their is at least one other deer hunter on this site!

Congrats David! I hope you enjoyed your time in the field and go again next year.

I got about 15 so far.

They look so cute out in my back yard. A small one was sleeping behind my shed two nights ago.

We get them often on our property. We put out apples and pumpkins for them to eat.

I shoot with a long lens, not a rifle (or bow)!

Here are a couple I shot in my back yard this year.

Great photos - I also take a lot of photos of them.

I remember when I was out at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, CA almost 20 years ago. I'd be heading to my school house along the trail through the small patch of woods and deer would just be hanging out eating grass 5 feet away from the trail without a care in the world. They'd just stand there munching on their food and watch as you walked by.
