small R310?
Hello, I'm new here. This looks like a very informative site. I began collecting years ago (1987?) & stopped, but kept everything. Then, a couple of years ago I saw an ad in the local paper for an estate auction with many vintage cards. Long story short, I came home with 32 old cards ranging from 1895 to 1970's. I have a suspicion that some are reprints (not marked), but not sure. I am sending some to Beckett for authentication & grading. I have one that has really stumped me...it is the same pose as the 1934 R310 Butterfinger, but is much smaller (approx. 2" x 2.5"). It is Babe Ruth & also has "Max Baer's Eastside Tavern NY Free Drink" printed on back. Any help with this would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks, 73CASE444 |

Wow! Thanks for the help! My card looks like the "merchandiser" card...even in a case like that. I have spent alot of time already searching & I join this forum & know more in just minutes...thanks again.

Could be a good card with a stamp but I haven't seen the Ray O Prints with any stamps on them. They are usually blank back. The others look real from the scan but kind of hard to tell....
If you can post a scan of your card there is about a 98% chance we can tell if it is fake or not.... |

Sorry to say, Looks like a fantasy reprint.
..I drove approx. 40 miles one way to see a Darby Candy- Baseball player full box. I got there and it was about 2" x 4" (should have been 2-3x that)....luckily I brought a real card to show the guy so he could see the big difference. |
Thanks. I am about to send 30 cards to Beckett for authentication & grading. I hope some of them turn out to be authentic. I have a bad feeling some of the others are reprints too (though not marked).

If you'll post scans of them here, you can probably save yourself some money on grading fees. |
