Posted By: James Gallo
I love these and think you got a great deal.

However as far as I am aware SGC will not longer grade this issue.

At one point I was going after this set but when I heard this I dropped it. They aren't super rare but very nice looking IMO. I think the fact they are generic players decreases the appeal to many.

My info from SGC is a bit old so perhaps they will grade them again. LMK what you find out.

James G

Looking for 1915 Cracker Jacks and 1909-11 American Caramel E90-1.

Posted By: Joe Hunter
If SGC does not grade this issue anymore, I know that PSA does. I have had several graded by them, and I think they are pretty accurate. As noted, they are not particularly rare, although they are scarce in high grade. What you have to watch out for with this issue is glue residue on the reverse, since they were designed to be pasted into scrapbooks. If there is residue, then the best you can hope for, grade-wise, is a 2. I wouldn't bother getting them graded, if this is the case. I do think they are neat, and are one of the more affordable 19th Century issues.

Posted By: Brian
here is the answer from SGC regarding grading...

"Hello. If you want them cut around the shape of the player the fee is $35 per card for (15) business day service. If you simply want them encapsulated the standard way in a square the minimum fee is $12 per card under the 19th Century (15) business day service. These cards can't be submitted under any specials.

They can be graded numerically if completely intact without tape repairs, etc."
