Goodwin's Auction winnings

I didn't get all the Home Run Kisses I needed but snagged 5 plus an authentic D310 for that set. I thought the prices were extremely reasonable and many were much better than the grade because, once again, SGC killed the grades if there was any writing on the backs of these blank backed cards and I noticed the same tiny ink "catalogue" number some old time collector used to use. You see the numbers on the Zeenuts also, particularly 1911 and 1912.

For some reason the 1912 E136 Home Run Kisses set is not listed as one of the sets in the SGC Registry by the way. Never have figured that out....

Kinda bummed, I had no idea there was even a Goodwin's offering ending in the last few days, maybe I just missed the emails but pretty crappy advertising overall. MANY items I would have bid on in there.

Good job, Bob

I got the T210 Corkill and the 1916 Zeenut. Lot's of good cards undersold in that auction.

I ended up with this Zeenut Berry.. another for my SF collection. I'm ashamed to say, I forgot I'd bid it :p(that's a first!), but it's a nice looking card nonetheless

its wasn't the normal length of a Goodwin auction but I did get 2 different emails during the auction. One as late as 4:02 pm yesterday

I am pretty sure Bill is starting his regular auction (commons and Uncommons)in a day or so.

You may have to check your spam filter to make sure the emails aren't going into your spam box, he did send out several emails. It wasn't a traditional catalog auction, just a "spring cleaning" of set collector cards, that's why it wasn't heavily promoted.

Just FYI, I received a half dozen or more emails throughout this auction.

tbob - That's a nice grouping on HR Kisses! The fronts are really nice for the grade. Congrats

i found all my sterling AND goodwin auction emails in my spam folder all of a sudden.

not sure why that happened, but it didn't used to happen that way. easy fix, but annoying.

anyhow, sorry to derail. just wanted to validate other's experiences.

I won a couple of d310s - the Delmas and the Ross. Seemed like those prices were really reasonable.

A note for those who didn't get the emails - I was in the same boat a while back with Bill. I had actually been taken off his mailing list and removed from his system because I had moved and he didn't have my new address. The way his system works is if he sends out a catalog and it gets sent back to him as "undeliverable", then you're removed from the mailing list which unfortunately wipes out any chance of you getting the emails too.

Just throwing that out there, so if you were on his mailing list at one time but now you're suddenly not getting catalogs or email notifications, but you DID change addresses, this might be why.

Hope that makes sense....
