Is anyone familiar with this seller? I ask because it seems they have quite a few Star basketball cards graded by Beckett and on a number I have seen, example linked below, the centering grades seem quite generous.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/1983-84-Star...AAAOSw0kNXg8ng On others the borders look quite thin. Compare http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-STAR-GA...wAAOSw8gVX-0Rt (not theirs) to http://www.ebay.com/itm/1985-star-ga...UAAOSwnHZYiPPB |
First off I don't know the seller. That being said I love centered cards. It kind of pisses me off when a seller says a card is centered and I see one like this one shown. It is a waste of my time because of the seller's sales gimmick (CENTERED) and it shouldn't be done unless the darned card is centered.

Leon, I am inclined to blame Beckett more than the seller here. How does any grader give that a 9 for centering?

I have bought from this seller many times at National and online. I recommend him with my highest regard. Super Seller.

The question was asked and upon google searching, highbees has been accused of having trimmed cards with a laser "across the street" in a few places. He supposedly has recorded some of the first 9.5 cards and they have measured quite short but BGS didn't care and slabbed many of them. I included one of the many quotes below.
Example: 1985 86 Star 166 Patrick Ewing BGS 9 5 Rookie Quad 9 5's with 10 Centering | eBay Anyone familiar with these Ewing XRCs knows that when you flip the card over, the top and right edge will have blue "bleeding" -- isn't it strange that the right back edge is pristine white? I strongly recommend staying away from some of these. |
