1935 World Series Poster - Is It Real?

1 Attachment(s)
I have the opportunity to purchase a 1935 World Series poster. My problem is that I don’t know if it’s authentic. I’ve seen the same image (see below) on a cloth banner, but I have never seen a poster with this image. Does anyone have information they can share regarding the poster? Is it real or a repop?

How about a back scan also? Thanks....

I'm guessing it is indeed vintage, but not necessarily related to the Detroit Tigers. There is no baseball inference in the artwork, and it could be a Massillon Tigers item.

As far as I know, the origin of these posters and banners has never been confirmed. You may want to take this account when making an offer.

Clearly shows in the listing the exact image of the Tiger on Navin Field and the Program shows the "Yea Tigers " slogan. Very convincing. This Banner has always been sold as a Detroit Tigers issue.

The 35 banner is a bit overpriced but a fine example.

Completed sales on Worthpoint all list these as Detroit Tigers Banners. They sell in the $750 - $3000.00 range depending on the quality.

It is convincing and it does appear to be the same Tiger image. If this has “always” been sold as a 1935 Tigers banner then there should be a photo showing these. Many sellers attempt to attribute something to a specific high level event. First thing that I thought of was early Princeton Tigers. Very difficult to call it Detroit without a photo.
