Maine Player Update

My Maine collection is coming along nicely. Lately I picked up this nice (albeit lower grade) Fred Parent card and a Louisville Slugger lathe bat for Del Bissonette.
But my favorite so far is this 1925 original photo of a Rockland, Maine, semi-pro team. Back row second from left is Squanto Wilson, which I knew when I bought it.
What I discovered today was the player in second row all the way to the right; Pat French, who appeared in maybe 3 games for the Philadelphia Athletics. Although not from Maine, apparently, he played baseball for the University of Maine. So he can be an honorary member of my collection. :)

I also found some time to research my UMaine flannel jersey, and discovered that prior to 1937, they used a stick letter logo. Then, apparently for ONE year only, they switched to these blue puffy letters. So that was kind of cool.

Thanks to everyone on the board who encouraged me and made great suggestions. It is amazing to learn so much while I research my project.

Nice stuff Sean. This is one word different than what you usually tell me. The bat looks great the way it is slowly step away from it my friend.:D

Cool stuff. Original photos of old amateur teams are neat (and generally not expensive to collect either).

Great idea for a collection! Are you trying to get cards (or something) for all major leaguers who were born in Maine? I see there are 77 of them and most are pretty obscure.

You are correct. I am trying to collect at least one card, or item, from every Maine player who made the majors.
I think I am up to 18 checked off on my list. Squanto Wilson was a huge surprise, because I thought he was going to be very, very, difficult to find.
