Does Anyone Own a Frank Thomas Game Used Hat?

4 Attachment(s)
Hey all, does anyone have a Frank Thomas game used hat? I ask because I have a supposed Thomas gamer but it's only a size 7. That seems too small to me but I want to be sure. It came from an employee of the White Sox so I want to believe it's true. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony

There’s no way that could fit on Frank’s dome, IMO.

I did find an auction for a Thomas game used from 1994-96 era and it was a 7 1/4". Was authenticated by Dave Medima. If this was say a 1990 rookie year hat, could his head have been that much smaller before he got huge?

Not sure about Frank Thomas but you would be amazed at how small of head some really big MLB players have. I have been looking for a few game used hats to wear but can't find any big enough to fit my huge melon.

Good luck Tony, not sure his head would have grown after he got huge. I could be how he wore the hat. I see some that just kinda set it on their heads and their hats are really small. Then you have the hair no hair affecting hat size.

There's no way that Big Frank wore a size 7 lid!
I've seen him up close & his hat size is certainly bigger than that.

This thread made me curious so I found a few listings for Frank Thomas GU hats and they all were size 7 1/8 including one that was used for a single special event game.

This came from the White Sox visiting clubhouse manager of many years. He would have no reason to "create" a hat when he could get a real one no problem. Not saying he didn't but just saying. If Ben found a bunch at 7 1/8" I suppose this possibly could be an early one. I have my doubts but am just not sure either way. I guess I can sell it with the story and "as is".

Maybe Frank like a snug fit.

When I wear a baseball cap I like a 7 3/8 - But when I ride my horse I wear a 7 1/8 cowboy hat because it needs to be snug so it doesn't blow off.

Nothing more silly than a man chasing his hat...

Looking at that photo of the Big Hurt next to Keith...I'd say- "great big dude, with a great big head"...the word little doesn't enter the equation, IMO.

f you comfortably wear a 7 1/8, it's very likely you can wear a 7.

As someone who wears a 7, I can't imagine him even in the 7 1/8. It would sit on his head like a stamp.

Adding this link of a 7 1/4 gamer and that seems tight for him -

If these are authentic, then I could see 7 fitting for a cap size. Both of the helmets are 7 1/8.
