looks awfully bold

Deertick 08-15-2013 06:43 PM

Actually, 1 Yes 2 No. Both PSA and JSA rejected it.

mcgwirecom 08-15-2013 06:48 PM

At least he is honest. How many people would just put it up with the one letter saying it was good?

David Atkatz 08-15-2013 06:54 PM

Here's another ball by the same guy. PSA liked this one--although they changed their mind later.

It looks like the guy is proud of his capital 'R's, so all of his balls are to someone whose name starts with 'R'. Also looks like he might be modeling these off the Ted Williams ball?

BrandonG 08-15-2013 09:07 PM

The ball is also a 1949-1951 model.

ATP 08-15-2013 09:40 PM

Well I guess that settles it then. Brandon you should hang out with us autograph guys more often :-)

Looks like Gutierrez could use a copy of the ball guides as well :)

+1 Spot on.

I have as much respect for Gutierrez as I do Drew Max and Ted Taylor. :(

If there is a Ruth autograph on a ball that wasn't made before 1949 I think even I could authenticate it (actually dismiss it). So far I have not seen anyone sign after their demise.

Awright Mike G,, way to go, coming in third in a contest with PSA and JSA.
Speaks highly of you.

I can remember buying items with his authentication, with complete confidence, back when JSA was just a twinkle in the forgers' eyes.

It's really a shame that TPA's, rather than moving forward and reaching their potential, have totally failed us.

When you already have people that believe what you say know matter what. Why would you upgrade. Infact with there hireing of god knows how many people that have no idea of what they are doing just proves that.
If they really cared dont you think the first thing they should do is hire a ball expert so they know at least it is from the same era as the signiture. They are Joke and so is M G who has know idea what he is doing. When operation bull pen was going on he had more garbage in his SCD auctions than most of the othe houses.

Runscott 08-18-2013 11:31 AM

Shelly, have you seen the inside front cover of Heritage's recent 'Seeking Consigners' booklet? It should give everyone a clue as to why the various autograph world relationships are working so well.
