Circa 1880s baseball tintype - Louisville Eclipse?

My father recently uncovered this in his collection. He doesn't recall where he got it, but probably at a farm auction in Kansas (he has gone to a lot of those over the years). It is a tintype loosely mounted in a paper mat. The one player is clearly holding a baseball, and the uniforms look fairly sophisticated, which made us think they may have been members of the old Louisville Eclipse club from the 1870s or early 1880s (tintypes were not all that popular by the 1880s, apparently). Note the light-colored band on the sock of the right player, which looks similar to a those in a group image of the c. 1882-1883 Louisville Eclipse that we found online. We have not been able to find anything showing this particular uniform, however.

It's not much to go on, but I wanted to see if anyone here had any knowledge of Eclipse baseball teams from this era or has seen similar uniform script anywhere. In any case, it's a pretty cool old image, wanted to share it here.
