Posted By: <b>Aaron</b><p>You mean we can post about things other than raging controversies? <br /><br />Then yes, I had a fine week! <br /><br />Last Thursday I picked up very clean 1940 Detroit Tigers black bat from MastroNet's Classic Collector auction. <br /><br />On Saturday, I won a lot of 1950-60's game used Kansas City Athletics caps (just keeping one cap I'd been looking for for two years) in Hunt's auction. <br /><br />On Sunday, I won a beautiful tag/ticket from a 1925 Christy Mathewson memorial benefit game on Lelands "Fredo" auction. <br /><br />And to cap it off, on Monday I won a rare 1930's Lou Gehrig stadium pinback on E-Bay. <br /><br />This is usually a quiet time for my collection until the summer season starts, so I was very pleased to get so may items I'd been on the look-out for, in such a short period of time.

My friend, no one threw harder than Smoky Joe Wood; of course by '22 he was in the outfield in Cleveland with his old Boston roomie and best friend Tris Speaker. <br /><br />Also got three 10-cent unopened packs of 5 cards each of Exhibit westerns cards from the 1960s with Lee Marvin and James Arness (as Matt Dillon) showing on two of them. I think I am going to open the third pack with the dud on the front (bad I know but I've always wanted to open a vintage pack).
