1961 and 1962 Topps Stamps

I am beginning to dabble in early 1960s Topps inserts, and I have a couple questions regarding these stamp issues:

1) Do people usually collect them as complete panels or individual stamps? I know it depends upon taste, but I'm curious to know if there is a general preference (a quick check shows the obvious - panels are rarer).
2) The 2021 Beckett Guide indicates the 1961 set has 207 stamps, but goes on to say it's "actually" comprised of 208 stamps - how many are there actually?
3) Also for 1961, Beckett indicates only the Kaline comes in both green and brown varieties, but the way the set is checklisted it suggests others are available in more than one color. Is Kaline the only one?
4) For the 1962 set - the Beckett guide says there are 201, but that there are 100 players each in red and yellow backgrounds - this would mean 200 stamps. Are there 200 or 201?
5) It says Seivers is the only known variation - any others out there?

Thanks for helping this novice!

I built it in singles and included an empty album and one in a unopened pack. I think the panels are neater, and tougher. I do have a few panels

The Siever is a myth discussed in past threads here about checklist phantoms

Kanline is the only one...104 and 104

Speaking as a player collector, at least on the PSA master set lists, both the individual stamp and the panels are required pieces, so we usually end up trying to get both. As you noted, the panels tend to be harder to find.

At the same time, the good news is that these pieces tend to be under-loved by collectors, so the prices aren’t as strong as with many of the mainline items, even in the higher grades. Although the very highest grades can get a little more expensive!

Some panels seem to be very rare, I believe the 1962 McBride-White panel is extremely rare and the 1962 Banks-Santo panel is rare and very expensive, I still need it.

Going after '61 Stamp set brought back a lot of memories of collecting as a kid. My friends and I loved those things. A few years ago I picked up an empty album and have been filling it ever since.

10 spots per team page for stamps but most of the teams have 12 stamps with a couple having 13. The Orioles have 11 and the expansion Angels and Senators with 7 each. That means I've had to make some decisions on which stamps to use to fill the slots.

If you decide to go after the 61s I have a nice stack of dupes sitting here on my desk, along with a small wantlist. All the NL pages in my album are full but I still need a few for the AL teams.

As a Dodgers team collector I put together complete individual stamp team sets for both ‘61 and ‘62. I have also built panel team sets (with tabs) and with all player combos. The last one I need to complete the panel set is the 1961 Charlie Neal/Marv Breeding panel.

SCD 11/17/95, not the end all and be all on these but interesting. The idea of "updated" releases for these is intriguing and will need some more research.
