Pittsburgh exhibit card mantle clemente aaron
 
Clemente sold in a 5 in heritage last nite for 4560 including BP
My 4 sold this morning
The mantle 2 and aaron 4 pop 1 are still on ebay...if they dont sell will go to highest offers

That price is insane. It makes me wish I'd held my Mantle, which I believe was a 7 and was a pop 1 at the time.

That was really strong money at Heritage and even stronger on yours! Perhaps more people are starting to wake up to the scarcity and difficulty of some of the more obscure items.

I agree; there's a market saturation point, when all collectors in the market place have all bid on the primary issues over many years.

I think the scarce items (Pittsburgh Exhibits, Stahl-Meyers, etc) will only go up as people recognize Topps is mainstream and common, with the only thing to differentiate uniqueness being condition / number grade. A '55 Clemente is not rare, nor really is a '52 Topps Mantle.

Whereas, the truly rare and unique items are scarce all by themselves, not "artificially scarce" by being designated an 8 or 9 as opposed to a 6 or 7. just my opinion
