Rare Quaker Oats Premium from 1939

Quaker Oats Gold Plated Centennial Ring

I was lucky to find, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the plaster mold used by a tracing tool to make the die to stamp out the Quaker Oats ring. This mold weighs 11 pounds and measures 24 inches wide by 6 inches high the result was the Quaker Oats Company gold plated ring offered as a premium redeemable for 5 box's tops. This ring is often described as a Jack Armstrong premium as they appear to be the same manufacturer. I think this was an exclusive product of the Quaker Oats Company as Jack Armstrong was associated with Wheaties
The comic section of the Sunday papers featured advertisements promoting special offers exchanged for cereal box tops and the premiums were very popular. Visit my web site for more information www.1939baseball.com. Thanks Steve

Incredible find Steve! Amazing it found your hands considering it is a major focus for your collection. I sold that ring on Net54 a while back. Adam

That is one of the coolest pieces of Memorabila I have ever seen. It's a perfect fit for the collection it found its way to, visually amazing, one of a kind (unfortunately for the rest of us), interesting to look at, and a great size for making the centerpiece of display without being too big :D

This is amazing!

Could I ask more about the find? Was it at an antique shop, flea market or other? I am just interested in how such a great item popped up.
