Two offered autograph examples . . .

Danny,

I only found two items offered for sale (price lists only, not including inclusion in possible auction listings), going back to 1998. Autograph dealer Jim Stinson offered an endorsed 1923 Chicago Cubs paycheck in late 1998. It was sold in Jan/Feb 1999. Currently, Quality Autographs and Memorabilia has available an endorsed 1924 Chicago Cubs paycheck for $795. Taking into consideration prior OC Net54 banter about QAM high pricing, this would possibly represent a maximum value / price.

To be honest, even though Ray Grimes Sr. played major league ball for only a few years, and died at the relatively young age of 59 (in 1953), I would have thought his autograph might have been offered more often. A father and son with the same common name (Oscar R. Grimes) both achieving major league success (2X the name recognition for autograph collectors ?). Other factors must have played a role in why Ray Sr. autograph is not more widely available.
