Two Mystery Cards

Posted By: Paul
Can you help me identify these? The first is a card of Jim Kaat. It measures about 2 5/8 x 3 7/16. I bought it from Lew Lipset who thought it might be an uncatalogued black & white version of the 1962 American Tract Society cards. That may be right, but I'm not sure. The card certainly has a Christian message like the ATS cards. But this one was published in Minneapolis. I don't think the ATS cards were. (Wikipedia says ATS was founded in NY and is now in Texas.) And the ATS cards do say "American Tract Society" right on them. This one doesn't. Any guesses?

The second one is a postcard-sized postcard of Minnie Minoso. The back is blank - no postcard markings. The front says "Salas New York" - perhaps the name of the photographer or publisher. Based on the uniform patch, it appears to be a picture from 1951. Again, any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Posted By: fkw
The Minoso card is ca.1950s real photo postcard (mine also has no postcard markings on back, but it was addressed by Minoso but never sent). From what Ive been told, Salas was the photographer. I think they may have been made for Minoso to use as many Ive seen are signed like the example below. Ive seen about 5 of them over the years, they are not too common.

Posted By: Paul
Bob, I've got some questions about those fake W517s you found a few years ago. Could you email me at pstewart@kmob.com? Or, just let me know you're listening by posting here, or in the W517 thread I started. Thanks.

Paul
