Bad Casting: Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman

Does she have a family member with Hollywood ties? Did she sleep with a top Hollywood producer? :D Or maybe she was just the kind of person Hollywood was looking for. Either way, this is what I call BAD CASTING. Now Gal is a very beautiful woman, and anyone who looks at her will notice that right away, but she has the body of a supermodel. In other words, she has thin arms, thin legs and is a bit lanky. She looks like she can't lift 50 pounds. Here is a screenshot below:

Wonder Woman is supposed to be physically strong, like someone who works out. No, I am not saying she is supposed to look like a man, but she should have some muscle mass on her body. And of course, add beauty to that as well. Here is what I am talking about:

Oh yeeeaaaahhhh!!
What do you people think?

Based on physique (I don't know if I saw enough in BvS to decide on acting) I don't agree with you. Wonder Woman is supposed to have an inherent strength, not a strength she worked out to gain. If you look at vintage drawings she had, what you called, a model look.

I always thought Gina Carano would've been an obvious choice. Oh well...

Movie approval ratings are sky high in early reviews. Think it's going to be the blockbuster of the summer. Assuming summer ever arrives.

She served in the Israeli military, I'd say that's pretty tough. Not sure what the knock on her is.

Yup!

As Fred said to Lamont after Lamont called him a dirty old man, "And I'm going to be that way until I'm a dead old man!"

Lynda carter will always be Wonder Woman to me. If you saw her in Bobby Jo and the Outlaw, then you'd know for certain why she is Wonder Woman!

Even with the Lasso of Truth that would still be my answer!

Given the box office you have to wonder if whoever cast her and directed the movie will ever get work again :)

Actually, my local paper had very favorable review for the movie...saying it was the best DC-Comics based movie not directed by Christopher Nolan.

All Israelis serve in the military, so that doesn't prove anything.

Right, it was tongue-in-cheek as was the comment I responded to as it actually had a great opening weekend with great reviews.

I feel like service is service. She should be commended for it I think.

Saw the movies last night with my son. One of DCs best IMO. As for Gal...perfect!

Agreed.

Also even if they all serve, I am sure they don't all serve as combat trainers as Gadot did.
