Southern baseball CDV’s
 

I picked up my first early baseball CDV from the south last week! Alabama baseball boys. Photographer from Montgomery. Can anyone help me with a date? I’m thinking early 1870’s?

How difficult are these early baseball images from the Deep South?

I would say later part of the 1870's. Yes, any southern CDV's in general are scarce in comparison to the north and particularly baseball related are very rare. I saw there was also another really nice one in that auction from New Mexico.

I appreciate your response Rob! If you had to estimate, any idea on how many southern early baseball CDV’s may exist?

Personally, I've only seen less than ten, I'd say, through the last 25 years but I don't keep a close eye on auctions. There's a few others that might chime in with their thoughts - Barry, Gary, Jimmy L, Mark Rucker (he doesn't hardly ever come on here tho).
