GAI - the unabridged version

Posted By: Ryan Christoff
Rather than post a long-winded and boring story on the board, I decided to put it on a webpage. Here's a link:

http://cubanbaseballcards.com/GAI.html

-Ryan

Posted By: Peter Thomas
Ryan - that is one scary story. The grading companies seem to have trouble with things out of the ordinary and with instructions. I try to make all submissions at shows so transportation is on grading company.

Posted By: Jeff Lichtman
That is one f'd-up story. I'm new to buying graded cards and having mine graded; there is no way I'd go near GAI now.

Posted By: botn
You need to contact Steve Rocchi or Mike Baker directly about getting this resolved. I know that you must be completely frustrated. Danny, as you know is a great guy but at this point Steve or Mike should be contacted directly.

You might start by sending each of them an e-mail giving them the link from your webpage. I am not going to make excuses for them but I do know that they will make this right for you regardless of whether or not you ever use or recommend them again.

They are still feeling the growing pains of a company that is very hungry to get as much of the market share and sometimes find themselves having taken on too much.

Here are their email addresses if you do not have them already. srocchi@gacard.net and mbaker@gacard.net.

Greg
GAI - the unabridged version

Posted By: Ryan Christoff
I wanted to post that I just got off the phone with Steve Rocchi who had no idea things had gotten to this point. He didn't even know they'd lost a card of mine until a few days ago. This doesn't surprise me at all.

The point is, he has made it clear that he wants to make this right and at this point is probably as frustrated as I am at the way this has been handled.

I suspected it might not be a company-wide problem as I have always heard very positive things about the owners and head graders at Global. I'm still baffled that this whole thing happened the way it did.

However it is handled, I will be sure to post the result as it is only fair to give credit where credit is due, whether it's negative credit or positive credit. I feel hopeful at this point that the situation will be made right after speaking with Rocchi, but I'm not even sure what that would take.

-Ryan

Posted By: MW
Ryan,

I sincerely hope things work out for you....I find it very unusual that the head of a company would not be informed when a card valued in excess of $1000 is lost. That seems strange to me but does not altogether surprise me based on my experience with certain members of GAI management while they were still employed by PSA.
