Dating Vintage Post Cards

I know nothing about how to identify and date postcards. Any links to help try to date unused and undated postcards?

Dating Postcards

I'd like to go on record and say I've never dated any postcards.

I needed a Prom date, and I wasn't about to go with my cousin

You haven't lived until you've dated a Postcard.

I get nervous, so I turn to Jeff P to get me through it

I tried dating a postcard once, had the stamp of approval, but before I knew it...it was cancelled.

Thanks for all the wonderful help.

Know it is pre-1917 (price of a stamp) and likely 1900-1907 range based on not having a divided back

mr2686 09-25-2019 12:56 PM

The words Post Card were not used till 1901, so 1900 is out.

1901-07

The nice thing is the designs were mandated by law not fashion.
