I am working on the 1968 Topps All Star subset in all PSA 10. I have 14 of the 20 cards so far. There are a couple cards that I probably won't be able to get because there are only 4 or 5 that that have graded 10. Clemente is one of them. I'll split them up in two posts.

It is odd that you have a golf card Bob

James,
Does it drive you a just a little bit crazy that PSA changed the way they orient the horizontal cards in the slabs?? Seems like an OCD nightmare!!

Great cards!!!

quitcrab 11-29-2017 07:37 PM

Wow they are super nice! The 68 set is hated by many, but I love it!
I think a nice 9 Clemente would fit right in !

Whenever I hear the term "gem mint," I remember that crazy card guy from the late night shopping network in the 90s.

Darren, It does bother me. I think that the puzzle pieces on the back of the cards is what confuses the people at PSA. With most horizontal cards within a set the card number on the back is in the same corner. With these the numbers are in different locations. I'll probably end up sending PSA whichever ones I have the least of so the cards can be flipped around.

Quitcrab, I have the Clemente in a 9. I completed the subset in all 9s and a couple 10s before deciding to try for all 10s. I just bought another 10 tonight. I'll post it when it arrives..

Had no idea the ‘68 set was disliked. I’m a big fan.

-- I don't know how to link E-Bay auctions to the forum here but if you search "1956 Koufax Gem Mint" under the "completed " section , you'll see a trimmed "PRO 10" .

..PS-- never buy anything in a " PRO" holder...

I collect flips too...

..two different very old "FGS" flips....the cards are also in a plastic internal sleeve which distorts the scan quite a bit......in hand they are indeed minty , and probably would get a PSA 9 with no problem , I think.....Buy The Label Not The Card...

I have a Jim "Toy Cannon" Wynn player collection and I've been picking up his MSA Discs in PSA 10 for a while now. I only have five different ones at this point. Here is one of them, the Crane version.

Thanks,

AndyH

Nice!

I think that is the first 100/Pristine card I have ever seen.

Your son is going to be thrilled. :)
