Posted By: <b>Carl Lamendola</b><p>Just added a card to the new PSA set registry to try it out. Looks like they really improved it - The picture gallery is similar to SGCs. The ability to download a CSV file to import into a spreasdsheet is nice. I'm waiting to see who is going to allow submission forms to be submitted that way - instead of double data entry. They should knock of a certain % for electronic submission - saves them time and money which they can pass along to us. May also improve accuracy.

Posted By: <b>Mark Holt</b><p>The thumbnail images on PSA's is an improvement and they still have many features that are better than the favored company on this board IMO. HOF sets and links to pop reports to name two. I have sets on both registries and like both companies. My images are clear on PSA's sets and not so much on SGC's. The gallery view on SGC still hangs up about halfway through my sets.<br /><br />The improvements to both are good for the hobby and hopefully will continue.

Posted By: <b>jay wolt</b><p>I have a couple of sets registered with both SGC & PSA.<br />Both are valuable to me as I can display my cards and<br />have a full accounting of what I have & need, and through<br />these registries I have met similar collectors and have done<br />many transactions. Perhaps 1/4 of my T3 set was acquired from<br />deals w/ collectors who contacted me from that registry.<br /><br />I also like that SGC & PSA's registries are different, then again<br />so are the companies and so are the slabs.<br />With that said I have no intention of switching any cards over to<br />either company because they fit better into 1 registry over the other.<br />If I'm collecting a set that is primarily SGC it will be housed in their<br />registry like my N284's & T218's, same goes w/ PSA.<br />I am thankful both companies offer this free service to showcase my cards.

Posted By: <b>Martin Neal</b><p>My T206 set is registered with SGC (Long strange trip). When scanning the cards, I cropped them to just show the card and not the holder. Result.. bigger and clearer scans of the cards. Who needs scans of the holder anyway?

"The way I collect" section. Thats pure awesome.<br /><br />I'll give a hand to the new PSA registry. I don't use it all that much but I figured I would put in my PSA serials of cards that will then be cracked out and sent to SGC. Gives my collection a little more exposure which may cause a dealer to give me a heads up about something I need.<br /><br />I do like that I can just cut and paste the serials in PSA and they automatically assign them to the applicable sets.

I would imagine that PSA was also able to throw a lot more money at it too. <br /><br />Is SGC a better grading company? Do they provide better service? I can see those arguments for those questions and I would agree. My collection once was only PSA, but that is no longer the case. I prefer SGC slabs, SGC consistency, and SGC customer service. But to say the SGC registry is better, I would have to disagree ... just my opinion

I know it's all just wishful thinking.<br /><br />And yes I do like my cards slabbed, for protection and authenticity mostly, so raw isn't really an option for me.<br /><br />-Alan

(PSA, SGC, GAI, BVG)<br /><br />Of course, that would require cooperation and permission from all the grading companies which I highly doubt would happen. Especially with PSA. They're the top dog and I can't see them taking away perceived business from themselves just so we can concentrate on our hobby. :/

I still like the idea, but for some reason, it did not reasonate. One of those great ideas that just seems not to be able to grow legs.
