Happy Birthday Bob Seger

Today is Bob's birthday, which he shares with Willie Mays. Bob Seger was born May 6, 1945, in Dearborn, Michigan. What's your favorite Seger song?

I think mine is Old Time Rock & Roll.

Mine is probably Turn the Page, although he's such a rocker it may be more fitting to pick a song like Katmandu. Several to choose from, and pretty much something for everybody. Happy Birthday to Bob.

"Roll Me Away" and "Feel Like a Number" are both incredible to me, and "Till It Shines" is an oft-overlooked bit of awesome coolness!!

It's funny, when my brother would describe getting the 'willies,' he'd say it's like when you see your (boozy) aunt thinking she's still hot by shaking everything she got while dancing to 'Old Time Rock & Roll' at a wedding. He always used that particular tune...so I think he was referring to an actual life-scarring event at one of our cousin's receptions.

We did favorite Seger songs not long ago. For me, Night Moves, unquestionably.

Night Moves. Something many of us can relate to on some level. Strong lyrics.

Those opening acoustic chords, which repeat after the slow part and lead into the chorus, are so damn good. Life enhancing song. Hearing it for the first time was a revelation. He has many other fine songs of course, but to me none like this.

It's also brilliant, IMO, how he uses "moves" interchangeably as noun and verb.
