Phantom World Series tickets

Posted By: Rob Dewolf
Another thread mentioned phantom World Series tickets -- ones that were printed by a club in anticipation of it making the postseason, only to have it turn out that the team comes up short. I've always liked the Indians versions of these and would enjoy seeing others. I didn't want to hijack the other thread, so here are a few from Cleveland teams that failed to finish the deal.

Phantom World Series tickets

Posted By: Rob Dewolf
George,

Thanks. My experience with phantoms is that you can pick them up pretty cheaply. At one point, I had seen only one or two of the 1940 tickets, but now they pop up fairly often. The ones from 1951 and '52 aren't too tough, but the 1959 version is a toughie. But even with that said, I paid less than $100 for it, a price that doesn't reflect its scarcity, imo.
