1955 Topps Hocus Focus - Missing Subjects

OK, I am down to 6 subjects with no information. Can anyone help fill in the checklist of the "small only" cards above #96 (the number in the black circle on back). Hoping to complete this sucker when I revise my Topps book next year:

97, 98, 108, 111, 120, 125. One is Lou Gehrig, just not sure of number.

Need better scans of #110. but as I know the other four Airplanes in the subset above #96, it's 12 of 15.
Would need front and back scans-thanks!

I mis-ID'd a few as well, all fixed now.

Note, these are not baseball players (except Gehrig's number), that subset is 100% checklisted but I figured there would be more eyeballs here. Would need front and back scans-thanks!

I am "missing" 2 of the cards in the baseball subset, but I do know who they are :). Very tough set

Al, I FUBAR'ed my spreadsheet, down to six one of which is Gehrig. DO you have scans of Lou or know the main number?

I know this is not an answer to your question, but did you guys see the 1955 Topps Hocus Focus Wally Moon PSA 6 on Ebay?

With mine and Al's, that makes 3 known.

There's more Smalls (both sets are '55) on the 'bay at one time than I can ever recall before. A small find has been unleashed by BMW and Brian Wentz was gracious enough to supply me with scans of three new subjects in the #97-126 "super high" range. My blog post of today about that and a few other newly located subjects appears here if you are interested:

I'm really trying to hammer down the missing half dozen super high subjects for the second edition of my Topps book. Hoping I can get some more info on the missing numbers at the National and also tweak the ratio of small to large cards; I used to think 1:40 but I believe it's come a little closer, maybe 1:35 or so. #1-96 and #97-126 in the small size are all from the same 126 card production sheet, so while the lower numbers are just as hard to find, they have corresponding subjects in the 96 card Large set and I doubt a lot of collectors make a distinction if they have one vs. the other. They are hard to find info on in either size. PSA has some in their pop reports info but it's fragmented, incomplete and hard to extrapolate. No one collects the full sets that I can tell, and most just focus on either the Baseball or Sports Thrills subsets.

As for overall pops, there are also three known of one of the super high boxers (Archie Moore I think). There's more out there of each undoubtedly, some folks probably don't realize they have them, but I still believe the '55 Smalls are the toughest card set Topps issued at full retail, although the 1949 License Plate set is close.

I just checked out your blog post. Very interesting.

Here is my Hocus Focus (small) Haddix and Moon.

As I was going through one of my Cardinals albums, I noticed something. The picture on the Wally Moon is the exact picture used on the 1955 Topps Double Headers.

Shane, most of the Double Header artwork was taken from the secondary poses on the 1955 Topps baseball cards. Here is Moon for all to see then Haddix, his Hocus Focus shot taken from his main shot that year:

Just more evidence the Hocus Focus cards were issued in 1955.
