PSA set registry question

What kind of premium would you get for having a high number set in the registry? i.e. #1, #5, or #10 in the set registry finest.

Really depends on the set....but I would say in these times of big $$ coming into the market, they are looking for turnkey purchases and not to chase down cards to complete a set. The premium some would pay for high-grade & complete cannot be overlooked.

The flip side of this, is that the high grade singles broken up, may or may not exceed the sum of the set intact??? Again, I think this vary from issue to issue.

The other factor is time

often you can make more money by selling things individually but it takes more time vs selling a complete set which is done in one transaction and takes less time

The old adage really. You really don't know until you sell.

I own the #1 Registry Set for 1961 Fleer Signed Basketball (The Impossible Dream)

I have had 2 auction houses reach out in the past year and personally asked about selling this set. I think it will do fine but you really don't know until you pull the trigger tbh.

I also have the #6 1948 Bowman Basketball Set (thanks to a 2014 Vermont Find of pristine low numbers!) No idea if the position helps here. All I know is that my almost full set is the 3rd highest graded currently in the registry! (Top Shelf 1948 Bowman Hoops) Such a cute name huh? lol

I doubt any of that helped but good question nonetheless . Thanks!
