Johnny Pro Enterprises punch-out series

I received an email concerning the Johnny Pro Enterprises punch-out series. It is from the founder of the now defunct business. If anyone still has the questions, or other ones, concerning this company post them here and maybe we can get an answer. Here is what some look like-

From the owner-
Pro Enterprises punch-out series we produced,
beginning in 1966. We ceased operations around 1980. I recently discovered online inquiries about the Orioles
and Phillies set in particular. A recurring question was: who is/was Johnny Pro Enterprises? How many sets were
produced, etc.?

They did BB, FB and possibly a BK set.

The ones catalogued are between 1967 and 1974 but there might be more.

I suspect Dan McKee has some hidden treasures :)

I have the entire Orioles set. Took several years to complete. Singles show up from time to time here in Maryland. I believe that there was a hoard of these found a few years ago of certain players.

Johnny Pro Orioles

I was able to pick up a half dozen of the Orioles a couple weeks ago. Was wondering why the Orlando Pena is the only one in that set that comes not die cut like all the others? Also if anyone wants to make a trade I have an extra Earl Weaver. Thanks , Brett

This is a product new to me, which is always exciting.

Were there any Detroit teams produced?

Johnny Pro Enterprises was a Baltimore based company that were doing sports promotions. They produced the Orioles set in '73 (28 cards) and in '74 produced the Phillies set (12 cards).

I'm unsure how many sets were produced, probably a decent amount, and I'm also unsure of the distribution method, even though I think I remember that you could get them at the ball park and/or mail order from the team.

In 1973 I wrote in and ordered a set from the Orioles. It's been opened, but mine are still stored in that envelope.

Orioles

I've never seen the envelope these came in. Was it just a plain white envelope with no writing?

Those are very similar to the early series 1 and 2 Beehive hockey cards. Beehive had a ton of products. You just mailed in a wrapper with your request for the cards you wanted, and Beehive shipped them out free of charge, I believe?http://www.antique67.com/articles.php?article=94
