The Rest of my unkowns: HELP!

I have no clue on these, they are the rest of the unknowns I've had sitting in my closet. Looking forward to any help.

Ken,
These really are some toughees. I believe that the bottom left one in the second set of balls is the former Angels and White Sox player Darin Erstad.

You've got me stumped with the rest...

Ken

1st set of four balls, the fourth ball is Bruce Benedict

it's amazing that none are readable. babe ruth, lou gehrig, ted williams, people could read them so even if you werent familiar with the player, you could make out the name.

Top right is former A's pitcher Chris Codiroli. Last batch top one is Jonathan Johnson.

Second photo bottom left is Darin Erstad

Third photo bottom left looks a bit like Joe Carter, but I'm not 100% sure.

earlywynnfan 09-30-2012 11:54 AM

I cannot believe I couldn't get Erstad!

Thanks for the help, guys. That Codiroli ball was killing me!

I await further enlightening.

Ken

PS: Scott, regarding your PM, I am checking it out. It came PSA'd.

I don't believe that is Carter. Could it be Jamey Carroll? Looks like it could possibly be him but I'm not 100% sure.

Second set of balls...bottom right...is Cliff Floyd...

Good luck with the rest.

I realize this is an older thread, but I recently signed up and have spent the last few hours pouring over pages and pages of posts. This site is amazing! I have been enthralled with all the vintage HOF stuff and the vast amount of knowledge this group of members has. Seeing longtime specialists Jim Stinson and Richard Simon on the board certainly didn't dissuade me from signing up either! Anyway, I am really enjoying these forums and I'm looking forward to making it part of my daily internet scouring.

3rd photo, top ball is Pirates/Blue Jays (among others) pitcher Esteban Loaiza.

4th photo, bottom left is former Yankees pitcher Jay Tessmer.

Also saw Jonathan Johnson and Bruce Benedict but those were previously ID'd.

I believe that the 4th photo, bottom left is J.J. Putz' Michigan autograph. See if Uni # matches.

With all due respect, it's Tessmer. I got him several times IP, but here's one from the bay. Other than slight variations to the "J" and "T", they are identical.

Also, Tessmer wore #48 in his last season with the Yanks.

Sorry didn't see your ID right above mine, was going by memory. I will look closer.

No worries, never hurts to offer up opinions! You may have missed my ID because I was too busy gushing about the site, haha.
