I know these guys are infamous for the prices they post their items at but I think this goes beyond even their usual absurdity.

And $19 to ship it!

Todd Axelrod has always been this way. The attitude and pomposity justifies the 1000%+ markup on everything he sells. In his mind at least.

I happened to stumble upon something on their website this morning and it lead me to view another item that I just had to chuckle about. The common Steve Balboni that they had listed, signed, for $499. It isn't just him though, it is every item they have ohm their site. I'd say that tops the Terry. At least Terry is a HOFer and is deceased and there is some demand for his signature.

In years of dealing with Todd, he always paid the highest prices of any of my customers. Was always a funny and entertaining guy as well. In many years though, I think I only bought one piece from him due to pricing, but I enjoyed many a good Christmas season due to him buying my stuff. Haven't heard from him in several years though. I think he must have gotten busy with other ventures as I used to hear from him quite frequently

Mike,
If you write to them now to offer anything you might want to sell they automatically decline it with a canned response. I have tried several times to offer them items.
Their feedback on ebay is hidden so you cannot figure out what they do sell.
It seems to me their goal is to sell to the Las Vegas high rollers who just made a big casino score and have no idea what an item may be worth.
The one big problem they do create is that uneducated sellers who are checking the value of their items see their item first if they are checking on ebay.
Then something that is worth $1000, well they see it for sale for $5000 and do not look any further. Then when they offer it for sale, they tell you it is worth $5000. This has happened to me on several occasions.
A few years ago he bought a couple of items from a good friend of mine on ebay. One of which I had sold to my friend for $20 or so. My friend sold it for $40 or so and Todd priced it at around $7-800.

Ebay could fix it by changing the way they charge for listings.....though
I am not sure any of their fixes have ever made anything better.

His feed back looks great . I can see the stuff he sells and the price when I check .

RichardSimon 01-13-2016 02:16 PM

He is too embarrassed to actually show prices there.

The Terry looks authentic at least;)

T206Collector 01-15-2016 07:57 AM

This one is less than $10 and still isn't being sold...

If there's a person making fake Bill Terry plaque postcards, that person is living a pretty sad life :D

I almost spit my drink all over my iPad after seeing those prices. $400 for a Kyle Abbott signed Topps card! That's the Kyle Abbott best known for being the less talented brother of Jim Abbott. A career stat line of 4 wins, 17 losses with an ERA north of 5.

$400 for a nice, very low number, Mays, Banks or Aaron certified Topps on card autograph I can understand. But that Kyle Abbot has a better chance of being shoplifted by an albino Sasquatch that it does selling for that price. Or any price! Who collects Kyle Abbott?

Thanks for the link. It was good for a laugh.
